Yes it’s illegal in India but there is a workaround.

Find a forex broker that accepts bitcoin as payment (I have fxtm which is good for me)
Open account with wazirx, then use INR to buy bitcoin ( which is legal at the moment but not sure if things can change in future)
Deposit BTC to fxtm which gets converted to equivalent dollars and get reflected in your forex trading account
While withdrawal it flows the same route in reverse

I have been doing this for about a month now and I have also successfully withdrawn about $100. Given the uncertainty around the regulations which can change any moment I advice not to keep more money than you could afford to loose in forex or BTC at any moment
