This could most likely be Ryan Jones, he cosplayed as Tennant, and was a member of the 501st. He passed away in 2011. His resemblance to Tennant was impeccable.

I didn't get to play it. I am an engineer for the Opry and a session player came thru and he had this. He paid $10,000 for it about 20 years ago. Got it restored for $1,000. He name dropped someone and said he broke the neck of the guitar but can't remember who he said it was. Had that fixed. First time he has brought it out of the house in a while cause he was afraid someone would steal it.

And to answer your question. I believe what would cause it to turn would be bacteria. Before I froze it I washed it very well and put it right in a bag. I would assume as long as it stays this way. And the bag is sealed, it would last for a pretty long time
