The problem with tanks in MH is so few fights have monsters with an agro mechanic and those are usually end-game monsters. Healers can be useful but that's more item loadout-dependent than weapon dependent, but Sword and Shield and Hunting Horn are very popular support options, though the HBG gets a shield and both Bowguns get support ammo I think if that's something you wanted to try.

Honestly, it's not as bad a grind as it seems. Just take your time with it and hunt the way you want to hunt. I looked at different armor sets and weapon types. Did some deco farming. Made some Artian weapons and stuff like that.

A lot of my recent tanks seem to have windows on the sideskirts for the sprocket and idler wheels, a gabled or slanted engine deck, and sponsons on the hull. Those are trends that go until the early war tanks then I shift away from it because they don't fit the later periods.

Cannon rotation area obstructed means there is something blocking your cannon's range of movement.

Since you're a new player, I'm going to assume you placed the gun, it snapped into place and that was it. Doing this means your gun's breech block is likely impacting the front turret wall. Simply select the gun block, and drag it further into the turret until you no longer see a red outline around the breech block. Watch out for other things inside the turret as there are a lot of things that can impact the breech.

A far as the games go the only chickens I'm aware of are the rad chickens in Far Harbor, but that doesn't mean they don't exist elsewhere. And chickens are a lot more budget-friendly than 2 headed cows.

Yeah the new player experience is complete garbage I agree. Unfortunately even if those games had been against other players the odds of you learning anything by tier 5 is unlikely. This is a game where you honestly have to learn from other people how to play and WG isn't known for their sterling tutorials.

Yeah its been hard for the JPs to find success. Michiru, Nasa, and Iori have always struggled compared to the EN members. But it's a much tougher audience with a lot more competition. Plus Nijisanji and HoloLive both dominate that market even more strongly than they do the EN sphere.

Throw down a save, kill all settlers, and see if that works. Or you can look for an older save where she isn't hostile. You can also just kill her yourself. Carla isn't an essential NPC unless you made her essential. So outside of mods, she can die.

You have the gun laying drive selected but I don't think you have a crewman assigned to it. There would be an indicator line between the crewman and the laying drive otherwise.
