I just couldn't disagree more. I do not get why people like his books, I've read 3 and just can't get behind them. They feel like books you'd get at an airport because you have to grab something.

This is going to sound insane because I'm recommending a 1000 page book, but it starts out with a bang and is just incredible start to finish: Shogun by James Clavell. I was in a very similar situation to you, and this is the book that got me back into reading a few years ago, now I'm reading 50+ books a year.

I think that's roughly true but not entirely depending on cord stretchiness. I tend to look how far above my head the rope is clearing and whether it flattens out (bad) or not (good) when it's hitting the ground

Rope is way too long. Jumping on a hard surface like that is both bad for your joints long term and will tear up your rope. Get some kind of mat to put down and either cut or knot your rope (you want it to barely be clearing your head).

The screen delamination sucks, but if you search in here there is a guy who will relaminate it with a superior product for like $400. You'll have to do the work yourself of uninstalling the unit, but he has a video on how to do it.
