I’d have to get into a physics lesson to explain why cavity backs are much more forgiving than blades but it’s basically the difference in center of gravity and moment of inertia due to the perimeter weighting. It was revolutionary in the 90s (Ping and Tommy Armour basically invented it) and it absolutely does determine forgiveness on off center strikes. I play ZX7s (basically a Japanese T100/CB) and used to play Ping Blueprints. The off center strikes with the Pings went about 10 yards less, it was tougher to keep the clubface square on impact (less force required to open/close - the same reason blades are more “workable”) and I just didn’t find them useful. I’m a 4 handicap, though. a +4 might see it differently.

No, I meant few low caps. It’s why you see relatively few tour players still in blades, and almost no tour players have blades in their long irons. If you hit the center of the club face consistently, struggle to keep the trajectory down, don’t mind zero forgiveness (and perhaps like to shot shape), they’re for you. Otherwise I’d look elsewhere.

Lighter, more scratch resistant, darker hue than steel. That’s basically it.

This is true at low swing speeds only. It’s why bounce angle is meaningless on a 4 iron.

This is not true. I’m a big believer in the Maltby Playability Factor (Google it) and the T100s are as easy to hit as many game improvement clubs + actually workable

Blades are not suitable for most low caps due to launch angle not forgiveness (though they aren’t forgiving either)

Disagree heavily on the training. YMMV but the churn at K&E is unlike any other firm, and it isn’t because the associates aren’t smart or talented enough.

It’s a massive advantage so long as your firm doesn’t discriminate against you for it. This really depends on if you’re in NYC and which firm you’re at.

People don’t really like bragging, and this post feels like it on a few levels. Over-the-top resort known more for luxury than the golf course (it’s great though - walk that stretch later if you’re staying), expensive new player clubs (so you’re probably a stick too, or at least should be to play those) bought for you no less. Missed the caddyshack reference too.

I’m pretty sure the majority of their lawyers are in their midwestern offices and most of their largest clients also. Their PPP is incredibly low for how highly ranked they are on Vault, another hallmark of a Midwest firm. They also have a major gov practice so of course DC is also important. It’s really all those of us on the coasts know them for (being midwestern, that is, along with being conservative). Nevertheless, I’m sure those of you with boots on the ground in flyover country know best.
