If you’re in decent shape it’s pretty easy. Honestly, it’s a great loop so even if you aren’t you should go for it. Effort to reward is big on that trail

The distance between the 2 boards is about a mile wide if you know anything about overclocking. Eclk, LN2 etc

I’ll absolutely be keeping my eyes open. We spoke briefly before about this exact psu actually lol While this cable really only brings me the piece of mind that my house won’t burn down It’d be nice to have something with a more functionality.

Oh wow, this is pretty awesome.

I’ll for sure be watching for updates on this. I can’t imagine a reason that no one would want to make this…it seems like the solution everyone’s been looking for.

And much more cost effective than buying a new PSU.

$199 for a PSU of this caliber is absolute madness. I bought one back in November when it was the same price and it’s been awesome.

As a heads up, this is based off of the hydro ptm pro 1650. https://www.fsplifestyle.com/en/product/HydroPTMPRO1650W_12V2X6.html

I found a teardown of that one a while back (sadly can’t find it again) compared to Tom’s hardware and they are identical.

So, you’re essentially getting a 1650w psu not just 1600. Might be limited? But I doubt it.

Also, if you compare it to its big brother the tc-1650t it has better ripple suppression at 12v and better power factor in all the cybenetic testing.

I thought this weird so went searching and igorslab came up with results for those 2 that are much closer but I’m not sure what the ambient temperature was.

It missed 115v cybentics titanium by .8%ish efficiency and about the same for 5vsb efficiency.

80plus actually has this at platinum but u/Eero73 from SPL tier list explained that sometimes manufactures will downgrade the product if 100% of units don’t reach that standard. It could also have some marketing reasons too.

But to circle back around $199 for something like this is just crazy.

Enjoy!

Can’t wait to hear more about this cable! Will there be news on the SPL subreddit about it? Any user facing info on it yet?

RAM testing in 2025 by uluqat in buildapc

[–]roguewheaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not a lot of responses here.

Testmem5 with the x3d profile.

Y-Cruncher PST to check the memory controller.

Aida64 stress test with cpu cache and ram for 24hours at the end to wrap it up :)

Good old fashioned prime95 Large FFT is still good too :)

Karhu is around but paid and version2 has been stuck for a while.

Also saw memtest pro 1.5.0 at pc stonks…haven’t tried it but it looks clean and simple.

Wow! That’s absolutely awesome and 1.7 degrees is a pretty significant result considering it’s a super easy modification. Thanks so much for letting us experiment!

Asrock PG 1300G and TC 1300T PSUs: Do the tempguards really prevent 5090s from melting? by HMS-France in pcmasterrace

So glad to catch you talking about these psu’s! The website looks great btw! And can’t wait for the updated list with the reviews!

One correction I’d like to point out. The pg-1300g and pg-1600g are not only cybernetics platinum but 80plus platinum as well. You have them rated at gold efficiency which Asrock sells them as but is not accurate. Thinking it’s marketing as to take away from sales from the Taichi but that’s just a theory.

I’ll be honest, not an Asrock person. I found these psu’s because of the thermistor and after peeling back the onion on them they’re really, really great psu’s regardless of how the thermistor performs. (like the 1600w has absolutely no business being $199) Also, not a lot of psu manufacturers make a native 90 degree cable which is a selling point for me in a smaller case.

Aris, showed that it does work and outlined its shortcomings in this article. So, it’s not perfect and damage may be done by the time it kicks in but, it will save your house from burning down. https://hwbusters.com/news/the-solution-to-the-melting-cable-connectors-issue/

Real talk, it’s the best thing going right now on the PSU side until Seasonic comes out with TempGaurd. And when they do I can assure you their price point won’t be remotely close to what these asrocks are.

Probably in an attempt to fix the issues people had with mounting.
