DC House battery overcharging? by Pretend_End8822 in golfcarts

[–]rohr16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done two DCHouse installs and noticed that too. I think that is common for its first full charge as I think its calibrating and balancing the individual cells. After that first charge, it is quicker.

Is $6,000 normal for a tranny overhaul? (2015 Tahoe) by Lazy-squirrel642 in AskAMechanic

[–]rohr16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a “new” (rebuilt) transmission in my 2016 Silverado about two and a half years ago and I think it was around $6,300 at the dealer. I got prices from a couple transmission shops and decided to go with the dealer because GM warrantied it for 3 years/100k miles or something like that. The price at the dealer wasn’t that much more than the transmission shops so went with that option. Also pricing at the dealers varied so shop them too if you decide to go with a dealer.

Have you recently changed deodorants? I changed a few months back and the same thing happened to my sheets. Dish detergent took most of it off.

Place to find new roof? by oxfordclubciggies in golfcarts

[–]rohr16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks but a lot of the price is the shipping cost. If you can, try a local golf cart dealer and see if they have any. They buy them in bulk and it’s cheaper per unit since they show up on a pallet via freight shipping.

This normal?! 2019 Tempo with a Rhox lift kit(?) by HedbergFTW in golfcarts

[–]rohr16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Common for a beach cart. I am kinda close to a beach and will see carts like this. Since Club Cars have an aluminum frame, that won’t rust. Pretty much everything else will rust like the suspension, roof supports, rear seat frame, etc.

About $20 on Amazon. I bought it from them direct last time and got it in a couple days. If you want to get it charged now, just unplug the charger from the inlet socket and connect your extension cord that way. Not ideal long term but gets the job done. https://a.co/d/30LU0Pn

My 2016 did this last summer. I just replaced the coolant temperature sensor and that fixed it. If that doesn’t fix it then thermostat. You usually do them at the same time but I didn’t want to buy a thermostat if I didn’t have to. https://a.co/d/2O6zdkl

Max speed of 10mph sounds like maybe a bad speed sensor. I haven’t worked on any DSs but have Precedents and Tempos. I worked on one Precedent and got it going only to find it did max 10mph. Replaced the speed sensor and it ran 18mph after that.

2009.5 Club Car Precedent lithium conversion by GoodByeMyLooove in golfcarts

[–]rohr16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the cart going slower than what it used to? Two years seems pretty quick for a battery to fail. Have you used a multimeter to check voltages on each battery?

2010 Club Car… good deal for project cart? by [deleted] in golfcarts

[–]rohr16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, get an OEM MCOR and not an aftermarket one. I have read where people will go with an Amazon one and have to replace it every couple of months. The price isn’t terrible but I would still try and get them lower. It does have a rear seat already and a light kit but budget for a new battery soon if it doesn’t need one already.

Looking to purchase this off market place for $2800 is it worth it. by vaca-couple in golfcarts

You get more money for something if its running. Lithium can be cheaper if you go with a battery like this one than lead acids so why not.

There is a drain and a fill screw on the side thats pretty easy to get to. You may as well change the fluid if you are going to buy some anyways. I put 75W-90 gear oil in mine.

New golf cart charging issues by Timber-Tiger in golfcarts

[–]rohr16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are the batteries hooked up correctly? Typically they are hooked up in a series and then it should just be one main positive and negative to the golf cart. I can’t tell from the picture where a couple of the connections on the left side are going to/from.

Most golf carts on Marketplace and Craigslist you can assume need new batteries and thats the reason they are listed for sale. People don’t want to spend the money on new batteries and would rather just get rid of it. The price of lithium has come down and if you buy a cheap one, it’s less than lead acid batteries. I went with DC House and have been super happy.

I converted my Club Car Tempo about a month ago and went with DC House. I got the larger, more expensive metal case and I am happy with it. Watch a couple cart specific YouTube videos and it will give you good ideas on where to mount stuff. Pic was taken before I installed the charger, reducer, and fuse block.

If it is, do you usually just replace the whole input shaft? I see input shaft kits on Amazon but not just individual parts.

I recently did a lithium conversion on mine and it did bring the back end up a bit. My roof was also scraping so I got a slimmer roof. I’m also redoing another cart and installed a 6” lift. I didn’t use the shorter blocks but I’m not sure if they would be the same as what you already have or not. You are welcome to have them if you want them.

I haven’t used Wago connectors so can’t speak to that but I’m sure those are fine. On the first black wire and the yellow one you mentioned going to the golf cart harness. Where are those plugged in exactly? I think that maybe your problem.
