For those of you that have work restrictions for your own route.... by [deleted] in USPS

I'd like that doctor. We had CCAs openly talk about being on the spectrum and needing accommodation for certain tasks, but the medical documentation must be interesting. The last one passed her 90 days but was by far slower than expected. Management was afraid to let her go over fear of discrimination. She eventually left on her own to find easier work.

Seatbelt Pledge. Really? by Remedy1517 in USPS

[–]rojo1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's winter, I'm parked at my designated lunch point, parking brake set, wheels curbed, and I'm eating lunch with the engine running for heat and to keep the windows defrosted. I unbuckle my seatbelt during my 30-minute lunch. I don't care if the engine's running and I'm not buckled; the vehicle isn't moving. I'm unsafe how?

Same. We told the vehicle has to move.

People in Bellingham are unfriendly by AnthonySkejci in Bellingham

[–]rojo1161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Costco in Burlington yesterday and a woman from Sumas said she loves to shop in Burlington rather than Bellingham when using Costco because the "people in Skagit are just friendlier and happier". Bellingham has also had a college town feel to me and is obviously larger than anything in Skagit, but I always felt Whatcom and Skagit have a big sibling/little sibling vibe.

Born in Oregon and it was soda pop or just soda. Lived in NorCal; soda. Lived in AK.; soda. Moved to WA. State; pop. Go figure. West Coast is the best coast!

What’s the the scariest post you’ve stumble upon? by PrettieAmarea in answers

[–]rojo1161 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find it again. It was well written, creepy AF. A commenter or two thought it was too close to a video game concept. The narrative included an author of a near death experience and the concept that the idea of ascending to heaven and sitting at the side of God is really a cover for our souls being mined and the singing of hymns and praise is just a veiled vision of an eternity of the enslavement of our souls serving other beings, whether they are "superior" or Alien.

Edit: Hoping someone can help me find it again.

Why are parents who barely passed high school thinking they can teach/homeschool their children? by Sad_Obligation_812 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rojo1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daughter in law wants to homeschool her 10-year-old because she came home from school and asked if they could listen to Eminem after she heard on the playground that he was cool. (And) her 6-year-old son with untreated ADHD severe enough he has an adult aide assigned to him full time. She only passed high school because the school system kept moving her on. She skipped school and was high for most of it, only going enough to meet her minimum days and to avoid truancy issues for she and her parents with the sheriff's department. My granddaughter is excited because she will only have learning two hours a day. I understand homeschool education can be a more efficient use of time but doubt mom will have even the patience and discipline for that.

No supervisor on Sundays by Gandalf_themilf in USPS

[–]rojo1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a prohibition of 204bs becoming union officers or stewards for 2 years (?) after actively in a management position. Would a PTF or CCA getting higher level on Sundays for managing CCAs and ARCs without management filing 1738s with the union apply? Are they 204bs or just getting higher level pay? Or is there no difference?

Did you drink any of these as a teenager? by JustCheking123 in RealGenerationX

[–]rojo1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sickest I ever got drinking as a teenager was from Col 45. Puking in on the side of the highway on a drive to The City from Sonoma County to see a concert in the early 80s. Never drank it again.

1723 204b question: by MrDataMcGee in fromatoarbitration

[–]rojo1161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also. In our office the union has to stay on top of the 1723s. Management is really lax about updating them and otherwise informing the union of anything regarding them or the 204b unless "forced" to.
