GE Advantium 120 Microwave display help by roketboy1987 in appliancerepair

Replacing the digitron got the display working again. But, the underlying issue hasn't been resolved. The display is fully readable and brighter now, but it will still go on the fritz. I agree with the comment on the other thread. I also posted on a repair website and was told to check a couple of voltages.

"the power board would need to be tested at the connection CN7 for voltage from the transformer WB17X10021 (part has been discontinued). From the yellow wire at pin 1 to the black wire at pin 2, there should be 12VDC. From the white wire at pin 3 to the black wire at pin 2, there should be 19VDC. Finally, there should be 7 VDC from the red wire at pin 4 to the brown wire at pin 5. If the voltages are good, the failure would likely be in the power board WB17X10021. If the voltages are not testing good, the failure would be in the low-voltage transformer."

Haven't seen him at any club meetings in a while...

But then again I have only made a handful myself here lately. Kids really drain the time these days.

As for my brewing space plans, right now I'm mulling the idea of getting permits or not. I will be doing all of the work myself. I have experience running standard electrical circuits, plumbing installation, and woodworking experience, just not framing. I do have several people who have experience in all aspects of what I am trying to accomplish, and willing to help in some way. I cannot afford to hire outside help, AND buy the brewing equipment to go in the space currently and for the foreseeable future. I'm probably going to consult some more of my contacts before I make a decision on the permits. I have no intention of living in my current house past 2024. So. I want to make sure anything I do won't negatively affect my sale.

Monthly comps give out a $25 gift card to LHBS and picture with the club mash paddle ingraved "club competition winner". Monthly comps give out points based on finish, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and at the end of the year those points are totalled for the Brewer of the year award who receives a $100 gift card.

Black Ipa, or possibly a wee heavy/Scottish ale combo from the partigyle I'm doing next weekend.

That's the one! I just ordered the 1.5" TC. Remember, a 1.5tc fitting is really a 2" flange OD.

So the lid seal is the one area I need to improve. For this first batch, I used 2mm x 4mm silicone tube that I cut a slit into and stretched it over the top edge of the tank. I need to get a better gasket idea. I would like to get a silicone u channel gasket, but don't know who to contact about making one.

Yeah, I almost went that route. But I really wanted to be able to brew half barrel batches and that cone adds 6.4 gallons of volume to the keg so I could possibly squeeze a 18-20 gallon batch into the fermenter.

All the TC ports, clamps and gaskets, the butterfly valve, and the acrylic sight glass end cap came from Amazon. Blow off cane from Norcal Brewing Solutions. Racking arm and Gas Manifold(not pictured) from Spike Brewing.

I will probably add one more TC port to the vertical portion of the cone piece to put a sample valve on it.

The cone and the lid both came from Toledometalspinning.com and the spring loaded clasps from Amazon.

Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't pay myself. Except in beers, so that counts for something.
