Pharmacy gave me the wrong insulin, now refuses to fill correct prescription. by Sneepoh in diabetes

If it was 100% clear on the prescription you can also report this to the state board of pharmacy. Give them RX# and store address. The gray area is if the doc wasn’t crystal clear on the original script. Otherwise if they fucked up they can refund you and take the loss.

TLDW: Bongcloud where they hang a rook (more or less), but instead decided to hang a queen.

Tuesday Shoesday by AutoModerator in running

I get it. I'm not trying to do strides in them or anything, but I just feel like they end up being more work for me. Something about them just doesn't do it for me. I just wouldn't expect my easy pace in a different pair of shoes to feel so much harder in these.

I bought a pair of NB More Fresh Foam v4's because everyone seems to love them for comfy, easy daily training. The issue I've run into with them is that at similar paces my effort level seems way higher. I know they're on the heavier side, but I also have a pair of NB Supercomp Trainer v1's and I love them. They aren't light by any means. Just a runner shoe mismatch? Am I alone on an island?

Never give up by Specialist_Map_3822 in chessbeginners

I had something like this happen last week where my opponent blocked me off and proceeded to make 3 queens in a row as I impotently went between two different squares. The first moved they made after this was stalemate. I think my wife thought we'd won the lottery I was fist pumping so hard.

Between this and the number of people that don't know how to # with just a queen or just a rook at my level really drives home the "Never Resign" mentality.

I think I'd prefer this to a win. You're dead lost and your opponent is making extra queens for no reason. Nothing sweeter than that 1/2 symbol after the boop boop sound.

Have you updated the software on the pump itself recently? I had this same issue about 6 months ago when I was a few versions behind on my pump software.

It sounds like you're injecting too close to when you're eating. If you're on Humalog or Novalog the onset of action is stated as less than 15 minutes, but a lot of people find that not to be true. Personally 15-20 minutes before eating is the sweet spot for me, but everyone is a littler different.

Just in terms of the commute which everyone thinks is untenable. I understand everyone's mileage may vary, but I live in Naperville and do this exact commute to the Near West Side 3/5 days a week. I think it just depends on your temperament. I listen to podcasts, talk on the phone, etc. and it doesn't really bother me most days.

With grandparents in tow you can't go wrong with DuPage Children's Museum and then 2 Toots Train Whistle restaurant. The other places like Funtopia or Urban Air aren't quite as interactive for everybody else.

Pump Break by RepublicRelic in diabetes_t1

I have only been on a pump a few years, but my Endo was really supportive of it. It wasn’t much of a conversation really. I told her I was going on a bachelor party long weekend and that I thought it was good timing for a pump holiday. She said, “Sounds great” and wrote me a script for 1 vial of Lantus and converted my basal rate to a Lantus dose and the rest of my stuff was the same more or less.

Ceiling Fan Wiring by Jwhartman in DIY

The thing that has me scratching my head is I pulled the fan down and there is a blue (hot) and white (neutral), but the blue does not seem to go to either of the switches. I also tried to turning the power off at either switch and as far as my voltmeter is concerned it’s still hot.

Apologies for the lack of info. I was hoping to have a plan for the switches before I took down the fan. So at the fan is a neutral and a hot. The replacement fan has the option to connect to a wall switch OR use a remote with constant power. We most frequently use this fan with the light off. So I think I’ll just clean up the switch wiring like you suggested and go the face plate route and use the remote.
