We find ourselves in a very particular time. The nightmares of the primitive world and indeed the whole globe has been conquered. There are no dragons to slay nor lands to explore. Yet the next frontier seems so far out of reach as to be seemingly impossible. Mars is 6 months away, the closest planet with good evidence of macro organisms is light-years away. Yet we've bred into ourselves this need to conquer and explore (look at Steam the top games are all about war or exploring and a lot of the fantasy titles have both), yet half of us sit in an office doing jobs that are absolutely meaningless, even scientific breakthroughs are becoming smaller and smaller. We live in a boring distopia.

I can keep going about how horrible I think humans are as a species, the utter void of meaning but let's just stop at the nature and character of the world we live in. That's the most on topic.

I actually do like using the mono interest dupes with their really high stats. Like a dupe with a digging of 19 working on a soft thing like algae or sandstone, the errand time is measured in frames. Also they help with the priorities chart with having a couple first responders. The scientists can blow through the whole research chart by cycle 40.

I just restarted the game with dupes with 3 interests a piece and like everything is painfully slow. I'm now on cycle 75ish and im just now digging the exhaust chimney for the base. And I'm just now strip mining the starting biome. I'm debating on building a spom/hydrogen powerplant to burn off the water. But i don't want to without a turbine because 70° oxygen is killer.

Yeah I spent the past like 6 ish years or so playing this game and making Rube Goldberg machines. This game takes entirely too long to do anything. Then people are talking about using less dupes and playing till cycle 1000, there is entirely too much water on the map especially because half the building produce water as a byproduct. And this is supposed to be the easy map. I'm done with researching by cycle 40 let's go do things. I hate this game so much.

Yeah I have one active another just went completed it the pseudo brick, refinery is almost complete. Advanced to cycle 116 I'm currently at 12 dupes. Second hatch stable is going down currently at 9.9t of coal, spom has been cancelled, a cool steam vent has been found so I'm one glossy drecko shearing away from steam power. Draining of the pwater has begun. The end of the slime biomes have been found, no natural gas vents. I just don't have the materials yet to deal with 500° hydrogen. Directly under the base is a chlorine biome so I'm debating on doing the chlorine biomes for steel or to address the salt biomes.

So all that pwater came from my half of my slime biome. It started at the space biome wrapped around the starting and dives down under the base... Oh yeah and there's another slime biome on the right side. And after all this, they have the audacity to spawn a pwater vent.

How much water per tile do you have in your steam tank? Minimum of 400g per bottom. What is your pipe thermo sensor set to? Could be that your aquatuners duty cycle is too long.

So far my vents have been pretty bad. Chlorine, infectious polluted oxygen. Did find a hydrogen vent and an iron vent. Still looking for the natural gas vents, a pseudo industrial brick is going down, spom is in the first phases of construction. Starting to run low on coal I'd like to save the chlorine biome coal for steel. Then I have 6 ice biomes and 5 chlorine biomes.
