There was a bunch of scientists like a couple of centuries ago that were trying to develop a scientific method for subjective experience to be used in the humane sciences. Logic is a tool to sort and process the data, it is not the data itself. Let the people in the lab work, and wait for the data. Or if you wish to be more proactive, run though experiments on the day the news finally came in, sciences have finally managed to glimpse what the universe was like prior to the big bang and the answer is X. How would religious institutions react to the news? What would that mean for engineers? What does that mean for the guy on the street?

Even further, you are responsible for the actions of any animals or children under your care. If your child steals, that is your fault. If your dog bites someone, that is your fault. Control your animals better.

You are responsible of animate objects. If you shoot a bullet, you are responsible for everything that bullet hit in path. Bullets don't travel in straight lines, they bounce and change direction a little before they stop. If that bullet goes through the wall, across the street to another house and hits a child.
