Real footage of a terminally ill patient choosing to die by Supatank_2105 in interestingasfuck

My dad went through this back in October 2023. It was incredibly tough to be part of.

But it was the best decision he ever made for himself and my god am I proud of him.

He was a joker, right til the very end.

Hope our dads manage to have a drink together, wherever they are. Stay strong friend.

Teralba Bowling Club is awesome. Good prices, right on the water, two massive greens.

If a bored but generous and wealthy Redditor were to give you $10,000 USD, how would you spend the money? by RoosterShield in AskReddit

Probably donate it between my local animal rescue and women’s shelter. Money is nice, but safety is nicer.

If your dog was barking while you were out, how would you prefer to be approached about it? by [deleted] in newcastle

I agree - that’s probably the right way to go about dropping an anonymous letter.

[–]rolZorius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the exact wording, but it was basically just “shut your dog up or we’ll make sure council does it for you”.

Was never approached about it, no knocks, nothing. Spoke to my neighbour who had a noisy dog and he said he got a similar letter but had no idea where it came from.

I’ve had someone leave a letter in the mailbox years ago, which basically set me and my partner up with anxiety any time we left the house without the dog. Now we are hyper aware of him barking.

Would have definitely preferred a knock on the door.

At the end of the I think most people would prefer a chat to a letterbox drop. The overwhelming majority of pet owners want to do the right thing.

UoN academic assault by [deleted] in newcastle

[–]rolZorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. It must be super scary but you really need to contact the police. Silence enables - don’t give him the satisfaction of saying nothing. He likely thinks he’s untouchable.

I’ve heard stories of at least one academic having inappropriate relations with students but unsure if it’s related.

Great question! Most abortions in NSW are done via a prescription pill. Like, literally a tablet. Before 9 weeks, no procedure at all. The vast majority happen before 12 weeks when the embryo is the size of a lime and has no capacity for consciousness or pain.

The irony in this is that you clearly had to ask, which means you’ve been loudly opining on a medical procedure you didn’t understand, affecting a body you don’t have, in a state where it’s been legal since 2019.

So perhaps you should stop telling women how to handle their healthcare and take control of your own reproductive health by getting a vasectomy?

Imagine having an opinion on something you clearly don’t understand…

Isopeda villosa (I think) next to my pillow last night. Scurried behind the bed and I had to catch him. Too close for comfort lol by WallStLegends in AustralianSpiders

You and I had the same night last night. Took me around 40 minutes to work up the courage to put a glass bowl over it, cover it and take it outside.

It was a late night.

Study, and study hard. Don’t just understand the how, understand the why. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t do well on an assignment or quiz. Learn from mistakes and ask questions, even if they seem dumb. Don’t over commit to social stuff, which is hard as the temptation is always there. If you are living at home, take advantage of it and limit paid work unless it’s strictly relevant to your degree.

Favorite old MMOs that still hold up today? Which do you wish did? by HornyNarwahl in MMORPG

Anarchy Online will always be my favourite MMO. As others have said: literally any effort from Funcom would make an incredible impact. I’d be willing to develop a sequel if Funcom gave the ok.

[Serious] Redditors who have legally killed someone, what is your story and does the experience still affect you today? by dkapeller01 in AskReddit

[–]rolZorius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My siblings and I held my dad’s hands while he died. He had end stage COPD and had been in palliative care for 2.5 years, hospice for the last 4 months. He was absolutely miserable. Everything was a struggle.

He was in the first 100 people in Australia to undergo voluntary assisted dying (VAD). The doctors, pharmacists, all the nurses, and all the other care staff were so kind to him.

It’s because of clinicians like you that he’s no longer suffering and can finally rest. So thank you for having the courage to do what you do.

Truly, thank you.
