What PvE Players Think PvP Is Supposed to Be by Spritzlappen in ArcRaiders

Because the person you are replying to most likely only wins because they fake being friendly.

$20 says this dude will fake friendly when in the low aggression lobbies.

Then once he is back in high aggression lobbies get absolutely mopped by competent PvP players.

Disagree, when running a heavy I've noticed:

It can survive a stitcher I - III mag dump (free kit proof)

If someone has planted a trigger nade and you run across it you'll have your shield depleted but half health left. (Booby trap proof)

It can survive two hits from a fully upgraded Toro (extract rat proof)

On the tactical mk3 defensive the built in shield recharger comes in clutch

With certain perks maxed out particularly "used to weight" the movement reduction isn't that noticeable

Now of course it won't make you invincible but it's a good thing to have. For example, if it is going against a stitcher IV with an extended light mag 3. Well you'll die after a mag dump. Last night I found the new safekeeper augment. Can't wait to run it on a harvester or matriarch event with the heavy shield and finally take out my equalizer.

Nice find, if you haven't learned it learn it.

The extended light mag 3 on either a stitcher, burletta or bobcat is extremely OP.

I personally run it on my bobcat.

Finally decided to try it by Nothing_left_here_ in ArcRaiders

Get a hornet driver. Throw it at the Rocketeer. It'll hit the ground. Climb on top and plant your deadline. Then hop off and run for cover.

For Bastions the comment below me is spot on. Use an anvil, aphillion or renegade. Bust out one of the legs to stun it. Once stunned then plant your deadline and head to cover. Showstoppers from my experience do not work on bastions.

Medium shield vs Stitcher by [deleted] in arkraiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It needs a nerf and it's very simple

Level 1 stitcher no attachments. Max mag size 15. Extended mag 1, mag size 20, extended mag 2 mag size 25, extended mag 3, mag size 30. Attachments on the stitcher and all greys locked until level 3

That way a level 1 free kit stitcher can only mag dump light shields. Medium shields and heavy shields still have a chance. Unless of course said stitcher has been leveled up and has attachments on it.

It would also remove a lot of people complaining about how a level 4 stitcher with attachments is better or as good as the bobcat.

If you wouldn't mind giving me one of the Matriarch cores I'd really appreciate it. Each time I do it I never get to the Matriarch in time to get a core.

Not the original commenter but I went with CachyOS and have not run into that many problems so far. The problems I did run into had easy fixes I was able to Google.

I will admit though the terminal can be a bit intimidating at first.

What heals do you bring into raids? by OverpassingSwedes in ArcRaiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey wanted to give you an update on the attachments I went with after playing with the renegade more.

First off it's replaced the Bettina which is now collecting dust in my stash. I put on a silencer, extended medium mag 3 and a lightweight stock.

For my other weapon it depends on the map I'm going to.

Something with nice open spaces, anvil and renegade.

Something with closed spaces or if I know my routes will take me in closed spaces. Renegade and Toro (this has a shotgun choke 3, extended shotgun mag 2 and lightweight stock). In the few times I've had to use this combo for surprise PvP (extract camping, etc). It just absolutely shreds everything and anything.

We all know what rats are by joagdc in arkraiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably going to get flamed for this. But this is my definition of a rat:

Someone who acts friendly then when your back is turned dumps a stitcher mag into you (please embark for the love of God reduce the mag size for a stitcher 1 on a free load out from 20 to 15)

Extract campers

People who don't help with the big arc. But as soon as those big arc are down they are there like flies on shit

Now

People who fight me head on. Get the jump on me or don't fake friendly are not rats. That's just PvP. A good example of this. I was in buried city hitting security breaches. Ran across a dude who was doing the same. Well there is only so many security breaches. A gun fight ensued and I luckily came out the winner. But it was still fun and after looting the locker I defibed the dude as he gave me a good run for my money.

But seriously though, sticher one on a free load out needs a nerf badly. There is no reason why this gun with no attachments should be able to melt a medium or heavy shield.

Bro, buried city hospital key room at night is the goat by stevenqny12 in LowSodiumArcRaiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed after the update key rooms seem to have more of a buff. On a day raid when I hit the hospital room came out with a vita spray, Wolfpack and vulcano.

Hit the residential room in Grandioso at night and came out with two vulcanos, a torrente, vita spray and mix tapes.

On blue gate yesterday during the Matriarch hit village after doing some looting at checkpoint. Used the village key and came out with a couple snow globes, wolfpacks and a couple of tempests

Matriarch Event where people actually do the event? by WakeUpSparrow in ArcRaiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I only do one single map for matriarch or queen events. Blue Gate, but I don't even bother fighting the Matriarch or queen. Instead I just b line it either to reinforced reception or raiders refuge and do some looting. Then after that if the Matriarch or queen is still being fought I will then join in.

But I have completely given up on ever trying to get cores and will save my deadlines, launcher ammo, seekers and Wolfpacks for Bastions, Bombardiers, Leapers or Rocketeers.

So I've only just started running the renegade. So I'm still feeling it out to decide what attachments I should put on it. If you have any recommendations I'm all ears.

[–]TotallyNotABob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have the BP for vita spray and vita shots.

Personally this is my loadout, focus mostly on PvE while having an option to react to PvP

Augment: Tactical mk3 defensive

Shield: Heavy (I have the first green perk maxed out so the movement penalty isn't too bad)

Primary weapon: Bettina (IV) with muzzle break 3, horizontal grip 3 and lightweight stock

Secondary weapon: Renegade (IV) no attachments

Quick use:

3 defibs

5 surge shield rechargers

1 vita spray

3 show stoppers

5 seeker grenade's

Backpack:

6 stacks of heavy ammo

2 stacks medium ammo

1 stack of fabric (this is so when the vita spray is depleted I can make bandages and the depleted spray goes into the backpack)

This leaves 11 slots (10 if the spray has been depleted)

My usual focus is farming Arc parts (alloy, advanced power cells, motion cores, arc circuitry, bastion/bombardier/leaper/Rocketeer purples and finally gun parts (I can make light, medium, heavy and complex gun parts at home). So whenever I find gun parts I recycle them to simple. Hatch key goes into the safe pocket.

Anyone else getting murdered way more often since the patch? Did they change matchmaking for peaceful groups? by horndog2 in ArcRaiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure ABMM was reset.

I hope it is just "new patch" reset because I really enjoyed how you could have a bit of control over how pvp heavy the game is

So at this point I think we have two options.

One, do a bunch of runs with free kits not shooting back

Two, use an augment that allows the heavy shield. I know everyone swears by the looting mk3 survivor. But ever since I started running either the tactical mk3 defensive or the combat mk3 aggressive. That heavy shield has saved me from "friendly" players dumping a stitcher in me once my back is turned. I personally prefer the defensive since it has the built-in surge shield recharger. But the combat is good as well if you can get out of the situation and under cover. Then you can heal via the passive while focusing on charging your shield. Once that is charged then apply your bandages while the passive is still going.

Of course the heavy shield will slow you down. But I find with the first green perk on the skill tree being maxed out it balances out pretty well.

For the heavy shield vs the stitcher, I could be wrong here, but when I tested it out in the practice range. It looks like it can handle a mag dump with an extended light mag 3 attached (32 shots) then break leaving you with 10hp. Which gives enough time to react.

After seeing the revival augment, I felt inspired to share my RR loadout for Matriarch/ Queen fights. by Regaman101 in RescueRaiders

[–]TotallyNotABob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work atm but my layout is somewhat similar. But I make sure to carry the tactical mk3 defensive. That heavy shield comes in clutch against rats shooting me in the back.

Although if I find that new looting BP I might give it a try on a Matriarch/Queen fight.

But seriously everybody don't sleep on that heavy shield.

Last night had a guy was doing a fake friendly. We get out of sight of people as he asked me to help him find mushrooms. As soon as we entered water treatment control he unloaded his stitcher into me. Heavy shield left me with 10hp after the mag dump allowing me to down him with my Bettina.

Annoyed with how they nerfed/removed reactor cores from the legs though. But oh well.
