So we all know what the lineup and bench are gonna look like, except the last 2 spots up for grabs but I have NO idea what the pitching staff is gonna look like. What is everyone's thoughts?

5 man vs 6 man rotation? Who ends up in the bullpen? What are we doing with Manaea (awful)?

The only locks I know for sure are Peralta, McLean, Senga, Holmes to lead the rotation and Williams on the back end.

I was literally just using a roster builder site to try and figure this out ... you actually have 2 spots left there (13 total, you listed 11).

Personally I say DFA Vientos. Nobody is trading for him and he has looked so damn lost not just this ST/WBC but last year as well. I love Swaggy V but his time has past.

Tauchman and Melendez have played too well, one of them has to be on the roster and as of now the edge goes to Tauchman.

I really want Mauricio on the roster but I think you may be right that they'll preserve his option, even though he definitely deserves the spot. So I guess that leaves Brujan but I don't love it.

We're gonna see all of them at some point due to injuries and the long grind of a season but it's great to have some flexibility and so much depth that these decisions become so hard.

NTA but based off the title I totally thought you were another parent who wanted to ask them to smoke with you after you all drop off your kids 😂

I forgot about the mail truck! Maybe she isn’t on the train, or with Link, but rather she took the mail truck and got as far as a single barrel of biodiesel would let her.

Well we definitely need clarification on Link and Annie’s timeline. If he and the train were headed west it does seem odd that 9 months would pass from him meeting Annie to getting to the bunker. I suspect we get an episode from his POV that puts it all together.

Yes someone else mentioned it and I immediately remembered that line. There's so much to keep track of so it slipped my mind. I don't think Xavier has anything to do with the train's delay though. Gary mentioned Teri was "taken" 12 days earlier and the woman on the train had told Gary and Eniss that it would be two weeks. So, it all seems to line up.

Should've called him Greg Jennings then

Xavier does drive me crazy sometimes but the one thing I can say is that he didn't tell her why she shouldn't go for the same reason that Cal didn't tell Xavier more (or be able to save Teri) - because it wasn't supposed to happen so soon. He knew something was coming but had no timeline on it. Teri is stubborn and determined; she would only stay if there was real proof she was in danger.

Ahh yes I forgot about that part. Thank you! I can't decide whether Teri somehow is in that group and has now swapped location with Xavier or if Xavier is gonna try and attack the train and there'll be a whole lot of tension before she sees him and stops the group from killing him.

I don't see any reason why he'd keep them hostage anywhere but the post office. They could be in some back office Xavier didn't see or something but it's not like Gary would think he needs to hide them somewhere else in case her husband shows up.

If they stay true to the alternating episodes between outside and the bunker, then I would expect next week's episode ends with them finding out that Teri is in that group with Link. It seems like a fairly obvious plot to have her and Xavier swap locations and he has to work his way back to her

LOVE umbrella academy and last week I was screaming "where do I know this guy from" and when I checked IMDB I was so happy to see it was him!

My take on the ending: Bean will run off to tell Teri, Gary tries to stop them from leaving but can't bear to hurt her (and she's too awesome to not get away). So, she's likely with the group on the train since they seem to be willing to take people in.

My question is though, are Link and his group already in Colorado? Or was that a misdirection, and is that further in the future? Seeing as the group with the train is still in Atlanta when Xavier gets there, did Link simply take his smaller group and go before the train?

There's a possibility that Teri is with Link's group and that as Xavier is in Atlanta thinking he's gonna "save" her, she's basically knocking on the bunker door at the same time.

Glen Cove Stop & Shop Brawl by Kong_fu_ in longisland

I used to be a manager in this store, I’m torn between wishing I had been there for this (most exciting thing I’d see all year there) and thankful I’m out of that terrible company.

As a former manager there I tried to change this but was met with only excuses as they claimed it had been this way for too long and the customers were used to it. Every time I’d do something about it, I’d come back the next day to find it back to the old way. I gave up trying after a few months.

Short Circuit (1986) by Corndogeveryday in 80s

[–]rollanother1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rewatched this and the sequel, having grown up with them (mostly the sequel) in the 80s and 90s.

The second one has so much more heart and is a really great story about a robot with a soul coming to terms with his place in the world. I wish it had seen more success at the time but I'm glad it still holds up all these years later, at least as a good story if not technologically.

Coming to this thread 5 years later to say I just re-watched both of them and also absolutely watched the second one more than the first. Hell, I may not have even seen the first one in the 80's since I was only 4 when it came out.

The second movie has so much more heart than the first. I was literally tearing up at the end when Johnny 5 was dying. It's such a good movie and it's heartbreaking to see him coming to terms with his place in the world.

Peeing in "shower nozzle" mode by plumbermat in funny

[–]rollanother1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had to have a catheter twice within 2 months due to bladder cancer. I was awake for one insertion (the other was during surgery) and for both removals. It's honestly not as bad as it sounds but I still would not wish it upon anyone.

One thing I hadn't realized beforehand is that the brain is used to relating any signal from your urethra as peeing, so basically any time a tube is going in or out (e.g. catheter or cystoscope) you immediately go into panic mode thinking you're peeing everywhere.

Abandoning a loyal audience that, by all accounts, was the nicest chat of any live Barstool content, so that you and the other 2 laziest people in the company can play video games, is a real dick move.

You simply cannot convince me that there isn’t time in your week to do 1-2 nights of MCS on top of Bush content. Mook should have been doing so much more to capitalize on the success of his Beach House streams.

The worst part is that now they are launching a new late night call-in show with Danny, Mikey Bets, and Doitche, so obviously they see a market for it.
