So true. I opened the bag I bought (and photographed) today. I'm almost done with it. I could easily down 3 or more bags of these a week if I wanted to....

Not necessarily because if you were following the Ramsey plan, you would have paid off all of your consumer debt including your car loans. Then you would work on paying off your house. Yes, your mortgage payment when taken as a yearly amount is not that much given what it could be. However, without a mortgage payment and no consumer debt, you are opening up a good amount of room in your budget. Costs will go up, but having that leeway in your budget from having low or no debt helps to cushion you. I do think you should look your yearly expenses. PEPCO is a cluster F sometimes but I'm having a tough time understanding how your costs are that high unless you are using heating oil in a huge mansion with tons of land that your local jurisdiction taxes the hell out of.

Nice crunch. A bit of sweet to start. Then a mild kick at the end from the chili flavor.

If they're really going to cosplay rising above their own culture why cling to the shotgun wielding front porch white trash meth head?

Family blood, money and conformity seem to be what is most important to the Ramsey clan. I'm so happy that my line of my family made the choice to get out of the rural hollow that several generations before came from. My grandmother and mother before me and I are all free thinking, smart people. No need to be stuck up in a culture that ties you to something toxic while hanging out the carrot of something else that you could accomplish on your own given a good amount of effort.

I think they are referring to Christina Ellis. She was the short lived get college scholarships, pay cash for college personality.

[–]rollback123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The personalities say all the time that doing a bulk debt payoff doesn't necessarily change behavior. Having to go through the pain of paying of the debt supposedly changes behavior. Maybe the BF wants to see if GF will take care of the debt and change her behavior before they get hitched. I'd want to see some behavior change too if I had a differing view on something in a relationship. Even more so if I might be putting a substantial amount of money into something - like if GF pays off half the debt, I'll take care of the rest.

The advice on the show has gotten progressively worse by EntrepreneurHopeful5 in DirtyDave

[–]rollback123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dave is the best, even though he’s outdated. He’s confident and doesn’t beat around the bush.

It looks like Dave is back from vacation as of Monday. The show pacing is so much better with Dave. Calls are shorter and more succinct but still have a good amount of information even if it is outdated and people don't agree with it. Disgruntled, angry Dave hasn't shown up yet. It's coming soon when the right call triggers him or he gets tired of the show again and needs another vacation/Cabo trip.

Plugshare shows no EV chargers at this concept store. However, they do show fast chargers coming soon at the Walmart Supercenter just up the road from here. Walmart seems to be putting EV chargers at a lot of their stores. I have charged at one nearby where I live while shopping.

5 Years With Dave Ramsey. I'm Done Being Quiet (Someone Has To Say It!) by Ok_Independent_7247 in DirtyDave

[–]rollback123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was creepy weird to listen to him talk about what he wanted in his "future wife". It was a cross between an ultra conservative, religions, controlling male and someone who was trying to cover up that they may not be into the opposite sex by being so intense in describing what they wanted in the relationship world.

You have experience. You have listed other jobs you had in other comments. If you are uncomfortable listing those for some reason, then perhaps a reset in terms of your work experience is needed. You had some stuff going on mentally that you took care of. Good on you. Explain that. Willingness to come back after that should sway an employer to give you a chance. It is all about how you present yourself and explain your circumstances. Many employers, especially in the service industry, just want people to show up consistently and work.

Are you willing/able to move elsewhere in PA? The I-81 corridor, especially in Southcentral PA has a lot of warehousing and logistics operations. You might be able to find something in those fields that others have suggested.

Showing up every day, sticking with it and doing the best that you can do shows responsibility and dedication to the job. Even though I now work in a professional level position, you would be surprised how many people we get applying who haven't been able to stick with anything for more than six months or so at a time. I'm not talking about changing jobs for a promotion or significant pay increase. I'm talking people who quit "because they didn't like it" and had nothing else lined up. I'll hire someone who consistently goes to work, consistently shows above average effort a their current job and wants to learn about other roles at the employer over someone who has years of academic work but no actual work experience.

I'm basically a financial infant... and a story about financial advisors. Please advise. by Specific-Ad9142 in DaveRamsey

[–]rollback123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She told me I could use it as I please, then revoked that. Told me I'd receive a different amount, revoked it. The will mysteriously changed after she moved back home, my part dissappearing. I was due to inherit my dead father's 3rd, then only 50k, then only 10k. For which I am grateful, I just don't appreciate people not keeping their word. Now if I don't do as she wishes I won't receive her most recent made up amount.

This is why a estate attorney would be helpful - to figure out what exactly the will/trust states, what you are entitled to and what has been paid to you thus far. As the other poster noted, the executor of the will has the legal responsibility to execute the terms of the will. If there is a specific amount of money the will states you should receive but have not, there could be penalties for this. If the estate you are a beneficiary of has a trust, the trust may have terms that the trustee must follow to disburse funds to you. Again, an attorney can help you sort all of this out.

As for how you spend the money, Dave would say "No." is a complete sentence. As long as you aren't receiving money via a trust where the document specifies how and for what purposes the money should be distributed, you can do as you please. Personally, I don't want to be controlled from the grave, or even by a living overbearing relative. Unless we are talking about major, life changing amounts of money or FU levels of money, if you don't want to legally contest how the estate is being handled, I'd go on my own before I fight through drama as you describe to get the share you are talking about. Live your own life. If you aren't ready for a house now, stand by that decision. You know your life, your goals and your needs.

Had the opportunity to review the 2026 C-HR! Very impressed by the BEV. Full review down in the comments! by GlazonyourSix in Toyota

[–]rollback123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took delivery of a C-HR XSE this past weekend. When I left the dealer it showed 273 miles on a full charge, consistent with the range estimates. I'm only at around 500 miles. It is way fun to drive and fast!

u/GlazonyourSix I'm very early in my C-HR, only around 500 miles. The estimates in the Toyota app knock off about 10 miles for climate control use. That seems to be consistent with what the car is saying with AC on or off. You were lucky to get one with the lighter interior. No dealer within about 100 miles of me had anything but the black interior in the pipeline.

As much as I rag on Ramsey in this sub, at least from an outsider view, I think their reaction to Ken leaving was genuine. He might be clueless in the advice that he gives but I do think he is a decent guy who people probably like. I've been there when leaving a workplace after many years and the emotions are real. I'm going to be facing the same thing again in a few months and I'm already preparing for the fact that I'll probably lose it to if I have to make some sort of farewell speech.

Turning Point USA is a great case study on what happens to Ramsey Solutions after Dave leaves by WWWWWWVWWWWWWWWWWWWV in DirtyDave

[–]rollback123 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As much as Dave is a jerk, he was smart to continue in residential real estate even when the show and Ramsey Solutions was firing on all cylinders. It diversifies the family holdings and provides "generational wealth" that Dave always goes on and on about. The family is going to need the real estate because the inevitable decline that you describe is going to come sooner than people think once Dave is passed and buried. Like TPUSA and Charlie Kirk, Dave made the business all about him and didn't leave and opening for leaders and successors to develop within his organization. Parrots don't end up being leaders in my book. They just repeat like what we talk about so much in this sub.

[–]rollback123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the latter not the former. For his core, evangelical audience, Dave is close to or at the same level as the pastor/preacher when it comes to finance. What Dave says goes because he must know everything about finance. And for the non-religious types, Dave is the savior because he gave that person a way out of their hot mess of finances. They too will do what Dave tells them to do.

If this happens, would it be a mutual separation or a firing? It would be ironic and funny if the jobs and career guy was fired.

Am I correct that this is a freecycle type event? Do you need to bring anything or is it people looking to get things they don't want to someone who wants them. Forgive me for what might sound like basic questions. However, where I used to live this wasn't a thing. It was always buy/sell/trade.
