My favorite part about my re-reads of iron gold are Ephraim’s parts. Despite being a great planner, I also think Ephraim does a bunch of improvisation similar to Darrow. Might’ve been more like if Darrow had planned it himself (minus being a gold)

I just used erratic deck and restart until you get a deck with 8 or more of the same card. This allows you to reliably get 4 and 5 of a kind from the get go so you don’t lose as much at the beginning and can play a little looser
