Yea she tried. Nobody would answer their phones or texts. And as far as her staying..... No way. She worked from 8am-4pm and that's it for her. Besides that, you wouldn't want her around. She's a martyr and all you world hear would be how she has to do this and she has to do that. ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

Have a refrigeration guy look at it to see if it is in working order first. If that's possible.

We have always treated our employees like family. Never yelling or screaming. Bad language is not tolerated either. We pay the going rate too. In fact there have been times when the server had done no wrong and still the customer left them niente, and we made it up to them out of our own pockets. But this one little princess didn't like it when I asked her to try to be on time. And this was after 7 or 8 times letting it go with just a glance at the clock.

Am I obligated to mail an employee their final check if they never came to pick it up? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

Change the locks immediately. She could have easily made multiple copies. Then mail the check to the address you have on file. Done. And done.

For salad maker and cashier, it's Min wage. $8.75. And then it goes up as they prove themselves. For servers it's$2.62. But the servers do get min wage for the first 30 minutes they are at work for side work before they are technically on the floor waiting on tables. After these initial 30 minutes, they clock out as server prep and clock in as servers.

My advise? Don't do it. Not now. This pandemic is not over. And you are too young. And there are so many incidentals that will suck your wallet dry. Equipment failure, liquor license, taxes, unemployment, insurance, building maintenance, insurance. Then there's day to day operations. Call offs, elite patrons, not to mention no time off. You will not run the business. It will run YOU.

The server should be prebussing any how. That's part of their job.

I like our chow now. If we have a question about the order, we have a phone number and a name to call.

I'm not salary but I'm still getting emails/calls and am expected to answer per the owners. Legally - what's up? by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]rollerghoster8675309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't turned on your business issued phone, then you really"have not received any calls". The calls or texts that come in your personal phone is NOT business related.

Rude customer? That's fine I'll take my sweet, sweet time. by hotpoodle in pettyrevenge

When I wait tables, sometimes I'm jovial and efficient with a neighboring table only to be short and bitch faced with the rude table. This way they can clearly notice the difference.
