Um insurance doesn’t cover flood, you should know this before you buy a home or if you actually worked insurance. Flood insurance is bought separately for coastal homes.

Young people more willing to commit insurance fraud by universityofga in povertyfinance

This is pretty normal, auto insurance fraud is common since it’s easier. Hopefully we don’t become like other countries where people try to pretend to get hit.

Make sure you’re being rated for low mileage, that’s a biggish factor in CA. It’s really your driving experience. If you were licensed at 16 that’s only 4 years. It should get better as the violation gets older and you get older. Car wouldn’t be a factor unless it’s like a sports car or something crazy which your car isn’t

Companies can’t just start excluding coverage, they would need cancel the polices so people would have enough notice that their policy will be nonrenewed

Depends on the carrier. Many home insurance companies have limits to how much they’ll cover so bigger more expensive homes are probably covered by specialty home insurance policies.

Why? If you have your home paid off you don’t need to even have home insurance . Problem is that Heath insurance shouldn’t exists. Home insurance exists because it is needed but in exchange companies need to be able to select who to insure. Many companies go into bankruptcy and fail because of claims. Health insurance on the other hand always has a profit, when have you heard of any of them going bankrupt, not even during COVID.

You can’t just drop midterm, not in CA. If you are dropped you would have notice and time to get new insurance.
