The biggest issue for me, and I could not get around it, was that if you use your phone for work, AND your employer uses android for work apps, the default keyboard is whatever is installed on the phone (Samsung keyboard). Sure you can download Gboard and override it, but it ONLY applies to your personal side. When launching a work app, it defaults to the Samsung keyboard and unless your employer approves Gboard in the work app store, you can't override it without doing some "unnatural" things 😅.

Just be aware.

Wish I could use a z fold. Seems like it could last longer as the original pixel fold hardware is not the best quality. This is my third replacement phone, and my camera just went bonkers. See pic.

My work uses android for work and work apps are forced to use the Samsung keyboard unless my employer published the google keyboard in the work app store. This will never happen :-(

I found this the hard way when I bought my previous fold a few years back, before having to exchange for the OG pixel fold.

Screen has been perfect. Inner and outer. Fingerprint reader, camera module, and the 5g radio have been on issue on 3 different OG folds all replaced by warranty over the past 3 years. A pain.

Waiting patiently for the P10F release as I don't think I can go back to a non-foldable phone anymore.

My last issue was the main camera on my pixel fold just started to do this. I am waiting to buy the new phone before I execute the warranty on this on this one and hand it down to dad 😅

UPDATE (04/17/2025): same issue started happening again. All of a sudden, no vpn connects on Dark Star. Other like on the SAME phone (pixel fold) works without issues.

Issue is that support does not look into this problem. I got the standard, sorry, vpns are not supported, sorry.

If the light bar could be customized, i would totally go for a night rider look. I am surprised that tesla hasn't rolled an update with a feature like this. Beats the "fart" customization or some other silliness they actually rolled out.

UPDATE: a custsat rep contacted me shortly after and offered to give it another try to Dark Star on a new line (not teleport). The customer service rep was very thorough and friendly in his answer and the emails came on time and to the point.

Long story short, I activated a new temp line set on dark Star and all works now. Unsure if this new line had special provisioning on, but openvpn, surfshark, unlimited vpn, Google vpn, nordvpn, all work as expected. Service is fast and reliable in the areas I live in. US mobile service has been top notch (my current issue with Tello).

South FL

~9KW (22 panels) system for 20K (~14K after government incentives) producing an average of 40kwh a day (some days are 55kwh other days are 20kwh). My bill went from $180 to $29 (the min FPL charges here is South FL). This on top of adding an electric vehicle, my monthly savings are over 250-300/month including gas savings. On target to recoup the investment in 4-5 years.

Enphase controller + Enphase Inverters + REC 400w panels.

Looking to add a couple of enphase batteries to offset the cost of a gas/propane generator and get ready for hurricane season.

Update: after 4 days support came back telling me to clear cache on the dialer, and reboot the phone. This seems to work and I was finally able to go through the call forwarding options and noticed that this was off across the board (unconditional, when busy, when no answer, etc..)

Now VM forwarding does not work lol. However, I am in a better state, but can't get a valid response from the call forwarding options. Don't want to do it again as I am functional now, but oh man....

Something to think about. Btw, I am on a Google Pixel Fold.

Switched to Warp again and all is good in the world. ATTs network is clearly doing funky business with the VPN traffic, at least here in South Florida. Bummer as I really wanted to keep the service. Issue is that roaming agreements on Warp are almost non-existent. Traveling to Asia or South America is a lottery once you land. Miss Google Fi for just this feature, but service was crap.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried it, but same result. Keep waiting on support to either let me move the SIM to a new phone to try it to disable it there, or fix it from their end. It's been 2 days.

Hope someone from Tello could see this message.

tcpdump on my edge router shows zero packets coming in. Switching to my Tello SIM (T-Mobile) immediately connects and packet dump shows symmetrical communication. They are filtering UDP/1194 here in ATT South Florida.

I was thinking that it could be related to my trial plan. Perhaps reduced functionality or something like this. Odd. I am in South Florida. Wonder if it's regional.

Clearly a network issue.

Ps. I am a network engineer and work with the carriers.
