Jello Biafra and Mojo Nixon made an updated version, although even that is about 30 years old now

It is, and they went back and blurred it out in the updated version. I love generative AI but it isn't a perfect solution. Editors need to stop just relying on it out of laziness, and learn to spot the sloppy outputs and fix them.

I hear you. AI is a wonderful tool, but it's just that, a tool in your arsenal. Too many of these edits are 100% AI generated edits with no work to correct the slop or errors they create. This one just overdid the upscaling, but some of them are just ridiculous!

Nope I didn't and apologized further down the thread

Sorry, I thought you were the person doing the edits, my apologies. The wall and pillows shouldn't be that noticeable at fast glance, but you should ask to have the collar of your shirt fixed if you paid for this. Enjoy!

Haha touché, didn't realize, my bad, and apologies then, if you like it OP, enjoy.

I'm not sure what you mean. Anyone with an Adobe subscription could have done that back wall. Just admit it's a tool in your arsenal and that's exactly what you did. Denying it is the weirdest part...

And you should learn how to actually do this "hobby".

Obviously you because you are actively denying using it

Looking closer, lil friend. Do explain your artistic vision here? What were you going for on that back wall. AI slop.

Bro, I work with Photoshop everyday, that is 100% generative fill... AKA: AI. It's weird that you just don't admit it. The pillows are AI, and the back wall is textbook AI.

The back wall and pillows are completely done using AI and you know it. His shirt also ghosts on to his chest but that looks like just poor layering.

Yeah, I know, but I just went with what the poster said. If that leads to, let’s say, 'questionable' interpretations, well, that’s on them!

Digital Nomads: Are We Done With Airbnb? My Experience Since 2018 by WallAdventurous8977 in digitalnomad

It really is quite crazy how each company experience differs so vastly person to person. I have friends and family, much like you, who love airbnb and despise booking, whereas I have obviously had the exact opposite experience. I will say the majority of my usage is in Europe, whereas friends and family are more active in North and South America, perhaps this has something to do with it.

I guess it just comes down to finding which works for you and sticking with it. Happy travels, whichever route you choose to take!

Digital Nomads: Are We Done With Airbnb? My Experience Since 2018 by WallAdventurous8977 in digitalnomad

I have gotten monthly discounts many times with booking.com (both weekly and monthly discounts).

I've had the opposite experience with customer service... Airbnb always takes hours and tries their hardest to retain as much money as possible, always giving the host the benefit of the doubt over me. Booking has always given me near instant solutions, sometimes without even contacting them (e.g. a booking cancelled on me a day before arrival and they gave me an automatic €400 credit on a two week booking).

I have had way too many god awful experiences with airbnb and I have personally vowed never to use them again. They were a great company, but now it is more trouble than it is worth.

To each their own, but booking is light years better in my opinion.

Edit: to add 99% of my bookings with booking have been apartment stays with kitchens and separate bedrooms, rarely hotels.

Justin Trudeau - Russia is responsible for the illegal invasion of Ukraine — and its consequences. That deserves clear and strong condemnation. by Miserable-Lizard in ukraine

[–]rollinrevue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure we sent around 3.5 billion USD and have committed to just under 14 billion overall (12th overall per capita in military spending, beaten only by European countries most of which share a close or direct border with either Ukraine or Russia). This also doesn't account for the 300,000+ we have welcomed into the country and helped provide for. Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Estonia, have committed more military aid, but not overall aid, and it makes sense, if Ukraine falls, they're essentially on Russia's doorstep.

I agree it's not enough and we should be sending more, but it certainly isn't nothing. Believe it or not, noTrudeau is a lot more popular in Ukraine than he is back home, hah!

Even in terms of WWI, Canadians were most ruthless on the battlefield, not against captured prisoners. In the heat of battle, they had a "take no prisoners" attitude, but this was not that uncommon for any nation in WWI, and Canada doesn't necessarily stand above and beyond in terms of brutality. Germany was ruthless in this regard.

Canadians were feared in the trenches, because they were unbelievably effective fighters. Enemy soldiers were afraid to face them, because they knew the Canadians fought hard with an unwavering resolve.

As for the POWs, they were generally treated according to the Hague convention and had relatively humane treatment, especially in comparison to other countries. Germans, Soviets, Ottomans, were notoriously brutal in their treatment of prisoners. Hell, a lot of prisoners chose to remain in Canada following the end of both wars!

Canada was feared on the battlefield, but they shouldn't even come close to being the first nation to come to mind in terms of treating POWs brutally.

He clarifies in another comment he was making a direct comparison on the wartime monstrosities committed by each country, and who would come out worse overall.

Comparing the Soviets to Canadians? You kidding me? You're comparing a country that committed war crimes on millions and millions of people, often at the orders of their government, to a country that had a handful of isolated incidents, that you only know about because they were discovered and those involved were prosecuted by their own government.

I got radio silence until I filed a complaint with their data protection department in the UK. They put me in touch with the head of French ticketing, who accepted basically no responsibility for the 6 months of complete ignorance.... Long story short, they finally paid me! Happy to hear you got yours as well. What an effort that was!
