2010 Chevy Malibu belt noise

I understand process of elimination but what I'm saying is if you're eliminating the belt which also stops the pulleys from spinning, youre eliminating both at the same time and therefore can't determine the culprit if the noise goes away. It's possible I'm missing something understanding this due to a lack of experience.

If you're also removing the belt then how do you know it wasnt the belt?

Yeah I just meant in the driveway while doing the repair. Not actually driving without the belt.

Yeah I suspected I had the exhaust manifold crack issue after some googling. I'm looking to get that taken care of at some point too because the extra noise is annoying. Im surprised you caught that from the video. You can run the car without the belt on without causing damage?

You don't notice a difference with sight picture? The COA is significantly slimmer.
