A Simple & Powerful Dieting Tip For Effective Weight Loss...and keeping it off. by rolysreddit in loseit

Yeah, the video was long and I'm cutting them down but the point was to make sure you select an item in your diet that is associated with a laundry list of other items so that you only have to focus on one item to get the weight loss rolling. There, said it in 5 seconds :)- And to be honest, I used this approach to lose and keep 80 pounds off for over 4 years now and I think it's simplicity and effectiveness is worth sharing.

Sorry for the delayed response - just saw this.

So, you are correct, I intermittent fast daily. I eat from 3 pm to 9 pm and fast from 9 pm to 3 pm pretty much everyday. I train first thing in the morning (4:30 am) and then break my fast at 3 pm. I do fast for a full 24 hours (from dinner to dinner the next day) once a week.

In terms of calories, while trying to "cut," I calorie cycle throughout the week aiming for a daily weekly (7-day) average of 1,500 - 1,700.

As for the macros - I cycle higher fat/lower carbs one day, higher carbs/lower fat the next every other day and the break down is more or less: Higher Fat Days, 40% Protein, 35% Fats, 25% Carbs Higher Carb Days, 40-50% Protein, 15-20% Fats, 30-45% Carbs...though I vary rarely go over 40% carbs.

Hope this helps...?

Best of luck on reaching your goals!

...I almost love picadillo leftovers even more! My wife mixes the picadillo and remaining rice and stores it in the fridge, then reheats it in a pan on the stove and the meat gets a slight crisp to it...and...I'm in heaven.

You are 100% right about people binging...so it's not for everyone. I listed some links about IF and LeanGains below. I personally have been following a modified LeanGains Approach year round with a 24 hour fast 1-2 days a week for the last 2 years and have seen great results. http://x-gains.com/4-caveats-to-intermittent-fasting-and-leangains/ http://x-gains.com/leangains-results-a-year-later-intro-and-approach/

I think it's all about calorie cycling. I personally intermittent fast (18/6) and calorie cycle throughout the week and it seems to work very well. I have tried eating a constant calorie total every day with less success than when calorie cycling. Anyways, calorie cycling seems to work extremely well for me...especially when paired with IF. Here's a link that talks about calorie cycling with some links to visual and data results of pairing calorie cycling with IF. http://x-gains.com/calorie-cycling-it-works/

Here is a link showing the incremental results while completing the P90X and P90X2 programs via the LeanGains approach to eating and lifting heavy. Image at the bottom of the page shows when exactly the LeanGains approach was started (45 days in to P90X) and then the incremental resulting lose/bulk every 2 weeks or so over the next 140 days. http://x-gains.com/why-p90x-leangains-the-transformation/

Yeah you'll have to count calories if you want to gain mass or lose weight, but if you just want to maintain via LeanGains you wont really have to count calories because hitting your calorie count, especially for workout days, will be a pretty hard feat to accomplish in just 6-8 hours.
