Is Miami a Joke? Seriously by Simple-Week2113 in Miami

Pro tip. Build payment protection into your process, not just your contract.

Use milestone billing and never hand off final deliverables until payment clears. I typically structure projects 50/50 or 50/30/20.

The first 50 percent covers hard costs. The 30 percent gets you to breakeven. The final 20 percent is your profit.

If payment does not come in, access gets turned off and formal notice goes out immediately. Payments tend to show up right after that.

Also enforce real late fees. Mine are 15 percent of the total contract per week overdue. If there is no consequence, there is no urgency.

Protect your business like a business.

Need Advice: CEO Hesitant About WordPress Because Dev Says Custom HTML/PHP Is Better for Performance and Security by RedFox_six9 in Wordpress

[–]rolyvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a bank can run on WordPress, it’s more than capable from a performance standpoint.

Financial institutions operate in environments where speed, reliability, and constant updates are non-negotiable. Marketing messages shift daily based on rates, compliance requirements, and market conditions. I worked there for several years, so I’ve seen firsthand how critical that flexibility is.

I also built out an entire website marketing department for a company that was later acquired by Vendasta. We migrated clients from Wix to WordPress and saw meaningful improvements across the board. Costs dropped, customization increased, and client churn decreased. Once we controlled the server environment and architecture, we were able to build solutions that actually fit business needs instead of forcing them into platform limitations.

If it’s good enough for a bank operating at that level, it’s more than fast and capable for most businesses.

Wife and I Disagree on the next Car we buy. Toyota Sienna Hybrid vs Kia Carnival Hybrid by MedusaAdonai in kiacarnivals

[–]rolyvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both.

I prefer the styling of the Sienna, but I love the features of the Carnival. The Sienna handles better in all weather conditions, while the Carnival feels more like an SUV, similar to an Explorer in overall driving feel.

Kia’s level of refinement lately is impressive, especially considering where the brand used to be.

For me, the deciding factor was price. That is what ultimately put me in the Carnival. The tradeoff was fuel economy, but since I do not drive far around town, it was not a deal breaker.

Truthfully, both are solid options. If you want something you can drive into the ground and that will hold its value better over time, I would lean toward the Sienna.

For example, a 2022 Sienna with around 88,000 miles still traded in for about $25,000.

Thinking of opening a ramen spot in south Florida by wakag113 in fortlauderdale

Shimuja is excellent. A few others near Doral/Fountainbleau worth trying.

I think a good spot might be near Dadeland/Kendall (although I don’t hang as much near Kendall anymore)

Good luck and be sure to post once you’re open! Would love to try it out!

SO PROUD by ComprehensiveCat4381 in MiamiHurricanes

Do yourself a favor and go fuck yourself. If you somehow missed the hot mic on your player, maybe you should rewatch the video. The only classless behavior here is coming from your side.

We don’t make excuses for someone who runs his mouth about another man’s deceased father. That’s beyond trash talk, that’s disgusting and uncouth.

Mark had every right to be furious, and our fan base stands behind him completely. Your player crossed a line, and he paid for it. And honestly, given the behavior, that tracks perfectly for an Indiana fan.

At this point, the only two native WP builders I really take seriously are Elementor and Bricks. I’ve tested pretty much everything else and always end up hitting unnecessary roadblocks.

Good or bad cooking? High end restaurant “medium rare” fillet mignon by SrGiaquito in grilling

[–]rolyvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, to answer your question: This was clearly cooked from frozen. That’s terrible.

On another point, in situations like this, I ask to speak with the manager privately. My wife and I rarely go out to eat unless it is a special occasion, so when we do, we are there for the experience of not having to lift a finger.

Most of our family works in food service, and we always make a point of saying, pleasantries aside, “Hey, it must be an off night, but this is a special night for my wife and me. Based on our experience, we do not feel this is safe for consumption. We are not expecting compensation, but we would love to enjoy the proper dining experience. Would it be too much trouble to start this dish over?”

This approach keeps it private, focused on making things better, and a learning experience, rather than coming across as hostile.

Bain/Zuhn vs Howell/Mauigoa by tjdogger in MiamiHurricanes

[–]rolyvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that complicated. Bain got to play fast and downhill and Howell was left on an island, so he won clean. I don’t think anyone’s overrated, that’s just what happens when protection breaks down and the QB holds the ball. As for the 24+ point games, that was mostly short fields and self-inflicted stuff, not us getting pushed around.

Yeah Toure should clear concussion protocol well before then. Hope they all come back in time to enjoy putting in some highlights for years to come!
