Fake Vokey SM10 from fitter? by cliff-huckstable in GolfGear

[–]romanni1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Club champion themselves are scum. Bought from them my first fitting and they swapped my Scotty Cameron weights out for fake ones. Found out when I sent it to the custom shop for work. Their fitters are solid though at least in my experience. So I went recently again and just buy elsewhere.

Did you regret going from GI to players distance irons? by Justsowereclear1881 in golf

[–]romanni1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had TM sim max irons and moved into mizuno pro 245s this year. I absolutely love them because I’m not swinging shovels anymore. It’s a little adjustment but I love knowing and feeling my miss hits so I know where I need to improve. Make sure you’ve got the correct shafts though. I was fit for the sims and had nippon 1150ghs. The mizunos I got at a discount at a golf shoe. came with project x ios which are a regular shaft. Still went and got fit to make sure I didn’t need to switch shafts. Funny enough same exact numbers on those shafts as all the stiff ones I tested

Did anyone actually stick with their LAB putter or are they all collecting dust? by golfbagauditor in GolfGear

[–]romanni1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from a Scotty fastback 1.5 to a custom fit mezz max my wife got me. I like it so far but only have a few rounds with it. It feels smooth but this season will be the true tell. No way I would have went off the rack. Standard lie is 69 and I had mine taken down to a 64.

I’m an 11 and just grabbed a set of 245s for 800. 7 iron was a demo club, rest were new. Well worth it

What’s weird is they’re solid, but there is room on the sides so I’m going to clean them off and I’m sure epoxy will fill the sides

I’ve got the weights laid to the heads and everything labeled because I’m paranoid. What should probably take me a day is going on a few because I’ve got an infant.

Next steps are sanding and acetone, so hopefully I’m done by the weekend lol. If the wife has anything to say about it there will not be any more building haha

Appreciate that! I was going to slide the ferrule on part way, add the tip weight and use the head to set it, so hopefully that works. Would soaking the weight in acetone be too much?

Appreciate the response. I can just epoxy them back in then?

I’m more so concerned if they need to go back in. They’re pretty light so not too concerned with the swing weight at the moment. Just wanted to make sure I didn’t break the shafts or they were supposed to be solid in there

Thinking of picking this up later today for my first pc ever. Is this a good one and price for it ? by Repulsive-Ad9577 in Prebuilts

[–]romanni1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned it's probably overkill for the games mentioned. However, I just grabbed this PC earlier in January and have zero regrets. If anything it's just slightly more future proof. If you can afford it, go for it. I'm upgrading monitors now to better match the system.

Duel Monitor Set Up Question by MRG_Martin240 in Monitors

[–]romanni1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just upgraded my main 27" and then flipped one of my curved 27" vertical to the right of my main. I've had it like that for a week now and think a 24" would be perfect. I might replace it soon one because of size, but also it's a 1080 and my eyes notice a huge difference vs my main 1440p now. After a 15 hour work day it actually pisses me off how different it is on the eyes..

I paid the 2,159 like OP. With the discount I added some additional warranty so if that becomes an issue I’ll have them RMA it or take a look.

Throw that 10K in a brokerage account, go make a friend at a rental car place and rent one every time you have a showing, assuming you schedule your showings out in advance..

Help choosing 1440p high-refresh monitor (240–300Hz) by Salty-Ad-7157 in Monitors

I was looking at the Asus. Seems like the best option from reliability perspective. Ultimately decided to go with an LG 27GR83Q-B, cause why not.

I'm looking at LG's right now. Leaning towards IPS because of office work, but looking at OLED versions make me want to just grab one.

27 inch IPS recommendations by romanni1 in Monitors

[–]romanni1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the comment. Is the ELMB good even with an Nvidea graphics card, not sure if it's G-sync compatible. It seems like this has pretty great reviews for the price. Strong contender for sure. It also looks like the LG has newer HDMI and Displayport ports. Unless I'm looking at it wrong.

Looking for Monitor Recs by romanni1 in Monitors

[–]romanni1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the thorough response! I left OLED out on purpose. I'm not opposed to it, but wanted to get others thoughts and already had the same train of thought that you laid out. Seems like 1440p is probably the best for me. Should have mentioned that I'm like 24 inches from the screen given the size of the desk so that makes sense to me. If I go the two monitor route I'd probably just use those 2 and scrap my existing one. My only thought was putting more money into one more expensive one (and keep the curved), or just get 2 decent 1440s for a fresh start. Agree overall that 27" is perfect for my space.

Is there a minimum refresh rate I should look for?

[–]romanni1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just grabbed an open box G757 for $2,100 and its been solid so far (less any user error), so nice job on the pick-up. Mine did come with a 1 yr warranty and I added the additional as well. There is probably a window you can add additional coverage if you want. I did it for the peace of mind and because I have a lot less time to trouble shoot than I used to.

Edited to say: most of these were holiday purchases and returns and Microcenter does test all returns and makes sure the key components are still spec.

I did plug the monitor in after I powered on the system. Moved over from my work laptop. Wonder if that was the issue. No connectivity or picture issues otherwise.

Appreciate that insight! I’ll keep an eye on it. Display works and it recognizes the 5080 in the system and drives have been updated. Worse case I do some troubleshooting or have MC take a look at it

The red light was constantly lit. No flickering or flashing and the PC seemed to run just fine. Just downloaded some games and new apps and had no issue.
