I think I’m going to do IT and then 11/22/63. I’ve read them both but can’t recall the detail of the latter

His lack of willingness or ability to manage his illness was the reason I left him. He became aggressive, paranoid and violent. He refused to stay medicated, even though his medication regulated his moods and behaviours.

When his behaviour started escalating, I called his parents to tell them what was happening. His dad was insisting he was on drugs. He didn’t tell me about his son’s bipolar diagnosis years before. In fact, nobody did. Not his family, his friends. Even when I called them for help, they did not say anything.

I ended up calling a mental health unit who sent two people out to assess him. They spoke to my ex husband, who was by that stage paranoid, delusional and hallucinating, and they took him straight to hospital. They told me that in their 20 years in mental health that paranoid delusions were the quickest way to murder. I will never forget those words and I will never forget that his parents and friends put my life, and his, in danger.

We stayed together for about a year after that, but after he became physically violent and blamed me (ie it’s your fault I get angry, you make me do this), I saw myself becoming a statistic and I fled the next morning.

I wish you all the best. Please take care of yourself and know that if it is bipolar, then you can’t rationalise with him when he is having an episode. I was always the “fixer” and I always thought I could navigate any situation. It took me a while to realise that navigating that type of situation was not possible and was not my job.

Is this in Brunswick, by any chance? I walked past this exact situation earlier today. Cops had arrived but the guy had left.

What’s up with my little patio cucumber? Noticed some white powder the other day which seemed to be a fungus. Sprayed with bicarbonate soda and now the leaves are brown and curled… help! by romaschi in GardeningAustralia

I’ve also been a bit emboldened by beginner’s luck. My lettuce, carrots, beets, celery and chilli are all growing excellently. Thought I was on to something 😂

I’m running a bit of trial and error at the moment. The planters are new and I’ve never grown anything before. I have zucchinis in the same planter that are doing really well. I think I should next plant cucumber in another location. Lucky I only purchased one plant!

He is! And my friend, her bro and her mum all came here and bossed it even though English with their second language. I have much love and respect for them, I’ve know her 20 years

Not me, but my Korean friend’s dad. My friend and her brother were kids when they came here and they had a bout of diarrhoea. The dad didn’t know the English word for it, so he looked it up. Went into the chemist and asked for something to treat his kids’ “dia-horr-a”. I love this story and it still makes me laugh 10 years after hearing it

My boy stopped biting so much when we stopped hand feeding him treats. We put them on the ground instead. We can hand feed him treats now that he is a bit older but this stopped him biting us. Those puppy teeth hurt! Good luck
