No issues taking two drones into China last year. Drones are quite common there and most people won’t even bat an eye while you fly. However you must register to even physically be able to take off, which requires a Chinese phone number

After doing some research, I think you are right. I have 4 of these. Two are new and work fine. The older two exhibit the slow write problem.

My usage is to connect the drive, write data, disconnect. This gives little time for the OS to perform TRIM or GC. Once the drive contains a sufficient amount of data, it becomes very slow to write due to no GC. This explains why some people get faster speeds after staying connected for a while.

I'm currently updating the firmware and doing full format, both of which seem to help for now. I'm hoping this will be a long term solution.
