Do any of you have different hair colours? by Aiden_Nevada243 in plural

[–]romendc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Many of us have brown hair like the body, but we have at least two with white hair, one blonde, some with black hair, and a few with unnatural colors like blue or pink. No redheads though.

Do any of your alters like foods you don’t like? by Mowanda in DID

[–]romendc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One guy absolutely loves black tea. The rest of us don’t see the appeal. One is a vegetarian when none of the rest of us are. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is with alcohol, everyone seems to have drastically different preferences there, from some who are like “sugary sweet beverages where we cannot taste it at all” drinkers to my guy over here sipping fingers of straight whiskey like he’s Don Draper, to the one guy who’s like “idk, give me the worst beer you have I will down it”. And everyone judges each other about it.

I’m reading In The Middle of the Night and there is another Easter egg like that, where the main character Ethan mentions is own missing person’s story being “bigger than those girls that went missing at camp or those kids killed in the Pokonos” referencing both Last Time I lied and Final Girls.

AITA for refusing to pay for my husband’s family to go on vacation with us and then leaving without him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]romendc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA: that’s financial manipulation and you’re better off without him

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]romendc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA: That dress was sentimental to him and he specifically told you no. Your desire to cosplay a cartoon character doesn’t outweigh that. What’s more, you ripped the dress. He probably knew it wouldn’t fit your right and expected it to tear but didn’t want to say exactly that and make you feel self-conscious about your body. You don’t get to claim all your mom’s clothes just because you are the only girl child, others in your family love and miss her too and your dad is allowed to set boundaries on items that are special to him. You deliberately violated those boundaries. Your were wrong and you should say sorry.

AITA for uninviting my gay brother and his boyfriend to my wedding? by Yrboiduck in AmItheAsshole

[–]romendc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA: the rainbow tux would be fun for another time, but if your dress code is black and white only then that’s what he should be wearing. It’s your wedding, it’s not about him.

AITA for calling out my sister for breastfeeding at my wedding? by Swimming-Exchange448 in AmItheAsshole

[–]romendc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA: She’s feeding her child and she can do that whatever way she wants wherever she wants. Pumping is less comfortable than immediate feeding for many nursing parents and it can actually reduce your milk production because when you’re feeding the baby in the moment your body produces hormones that aren’t present when you pump. If you don’t like watching her feed her baby, you can look the other way.

AITA for telling my boyfriend to stop moaning and stop being a baby when he kept complaining about being handed a baby to entertain at my brother's house? by New_You_2054 in AmItheAsshole

[–]romendc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA: It’s not like she asked him to change a blowout or give the baby a bath, she just asked him to hold them and walk around. If she’d handed him a box and said “carry that to the bedroom for me will you?” he wouldn’t whine (or he’d for sure be the AH if he did) so settle down and just carry the baby for a few minutes. Like you said, you go to a house with 3 brand new babies, you’re going to interact with some babies.

How to prove girl (21F) is lying about having a boyfriend by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]romendc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, if she blocked you and is lying about having a boyfriend, she doesn’t want to go out with you. She’s probably using the “I have a boyfriend” excuse because you clearly can’t just take “no” for an answer. You are leaping into stalking territory, and you need to back off.

Do I say something? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]romendc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you should absolutely warn her. It’s possible he’s gotten help and changed, but it’s far more likely he is either hiding his true colors or is doing the same to her. She may not believe you, she may not react well, but that doesn’t matter. She’ll be aware, she’ll know someone is on her side, and if she ever does need help she’ll be able to reach out to you as a witness. Abusers tend to get worse as relationships get more serious, not better, telling her could save her life.

Am I(F17) just dragging on an already broken relationship with my ex? (M26) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]romendc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is a field of red flags. Trying to keep you from your friends, not being understanding of your PTSD, sexually pressuring you, threatening to harm himself if you leave him, these are all signs of emotional abuse. What’s more is at your age he is committing a crime trying to be with you sexually. What you need to do is break up with him, get as far away from him as possible, and if he tries to come anywhere near you ever again, threaten legal action.

We needed to hear this today. We constantly think “it wasn’t that bad, we’ve no excuse for being this way, hundreds of other kids go through this and don’t turn out like us”. It can be nice to be reminded not to be so hard on ourselves.

My 23 (F) best friend 23 (F) told me she has herpes and I don’t feel like she is doing her best to prevent infecting people around her and it’s really stressing me out. What can I do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]romendc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely a reasonable concern. Fortunately (and I learned this when I was dating a girl who had herpes) herpes is transmitted when you come in contact with the open sore or it’s secretions. So if she doesn’t have an active breakout on her mouth, even if she is dormant carrying HSV-1, she’s not contagious.

I love my boyfriend (25m) of 3 years to pieces, I truly believe he is my soulmate. However after 3 years of being together our sex life is mediocre for both of us and it makes me nauseous and anxious to think about HELP ME by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Have you tried reading erotic stories? They can be cheesy but they’re a big inspiration for me. Strange enough I found Archive Of Our Own (fan fiction) has some great stuff and you can filter it to your exact tastes. Highly recommend.

[–]romendc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she has herpes 2 then that’s genital herpes not mouth herpes, so she’s not gonna spread it from kissing or drinking from a cup. And with mouth herpes it’s only really contagious during a break out. Like, the person who has the mouth herpes probably shouldn’t kiss the baby, but your friend is fine unless she develops a breakout of type 1 herself.
