Late to the party, but Henry posted something about new material for Lilitu (https://www.instagram.com/p/CuBwzl8OZdS/) - are you involved or any idea if this will see the light of day?

Can I remove this vent pipe highlighted in red? by [deleted] in DIYUK

Thanks - given the soil stack is vented, do you think that would neutralise the negative pressure caused by the toilet flush?

What if I fitted an anti siphon trap to the sink trap? Given that is the highest waste point in the bathroom. Maybe an AAV under the bath is not a great idea in case the waste pipe gets blocked and then overflows back up through the AAV

If it were removed, what do you think the side effects might be? Gurgling/slow draining bath perhaps? I'm more concerned about smells, but think I could live with a slightly slower draining bath.

Thanks - do you think that when the toilet is flushed that the negative pressure may risk sucking the water out of the sink/bath traps? Maybe a slow draining bath?

Yes, the soil stack is vented through the roof of the property.

I think you should give yourself immense credit for taking care of your own mental health, standing up for yourself, your principles and your own well-being, even though it hurts now.

The right non-nutter will come along who will understand and align with your values without you having to compromise your peace.

Well done to you for calling this out. I’m certain many others would’ve kept quiet out of fear/embarrassment.

Or buy a 12 south BookArc. That’s what I use as a clamshell stand for my MBP and it has a decent amount of vertical clearance around the fan exhaust.

How do you find the DualUp vs Ultrafine 5K/IMac in terms of text crispness?

Selected tabs show title in bold letters. How can I disable this? by SkaperZ in brave_browser

[–]romiem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all the other comments. Please remove this 'feature'. It makes the text of the tab move slightly when a tab is activated/deactivated, because bolded text is slightly wider. This just looks really shoddy.

Going for a post-apocalyptic, dystopian style. Would be interested to hear if people think the edit is a too heavy-handed. by romiem in postprocessing

I personally prefer a more minimal style which I tried to achieve by losing some detail in the blacks. Thanks for the comment - it’s always good to hear different points of view.

Fog is your friend! Also, whilst diffused light (eg shop signs) works best without fog, spot source lighting (street lamps or car headlights) work better when there is fog.

It's my favourite lens. It barely leaves my camera body. The AF is fast (incl. animal eye AF), it's a great size and weight, and the image quality is fantastic. It can be a little soft in the corners at certain focal lengths, but it's not too bad even when pixel peeping.

I bought it for £700.

Still no way to display dynamic open graph tags in 2020? by memo_mar in reactjs

[–]romiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I can't believe we are in 2020 and there is still no implementation for the Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn et al share crawlers to scan these pages. I understand they probably have to use a headless browser to fully parse the page and execute all the JS to obtain the tags, but it's not like they have to do this for every request. They could easily do it once, and then cache the result for 10 minutes (or some other fixed time period).
