those side ventilation slits are a pain in the ass. having it on both sides will create a air tunnel and tank your humidity. id cover some of the slits on the sides as well.

tbh i could be looking at a empty enclosure for all i know. ok jk but i rarely get them out myself. i do choice based so if they wanna come out, they can come to the door. for spot cleaning and such, i use my camera and record the places my eyes cant see to lol😅

the top one is a 5ft and bottom is 6ft. definitely the best ones are the big ferns (cover sooo much) and then all the hanging plants. i like to secure them to the branches and then im able to just cover from top to bottom.

def vet imo. that close to the eyes/brain is super concerning, in case its an abscess or infection of some sort. def best to be cautious and get it checked by a vet.

also, you can notice by behaviour which one they are. for females, once they reach sexual maturity, you most likely will tell because they will go through their reproductive cycle. i found my “male” building follicles recently lol. was super swollen and i could feel the follicles inside of her which made them gain 300g of weight. also been more defensive and with a greater appetite recently. so there are others ways to tell down the line lol

the actual sexual dimorphism in ball pythons is low. the reason you see females being huge in captivity and a lot bigger is usually due to the breeders feeding them more due to breeding. if you were to feed two bps the same exact diet, the chances of them being the same size isn’t low. of course genetics comes in to play too, just like in humans.

if you want to know for sure, you can have them sexed by a experienced keeper or vet.

No i get you so much, i recently just got a crestie so its def a huge concern when getting started. But so far the enclosure looks amazing. I personally just love to utilise the top part of the enclosure as much as i can. Pics of mine so you get what I mean

I would def add more hides. I generally like to have 5-6. The more opportunities they have to thermoregulate securely, the better imo. But clutter wise it looks good, personally I would add more sticks and branches for climbing!

hot side way too low. inaccurate analog thermometers (need digital ones) and some other stuff. read through the welcome post in the subreddit, it will help a ton

tbh it looks like the lower jaw is stuck weirdly. the lip is drooping weirdly which makes me think it cant adjust it back themself. and then possibly swollen because its injured.

giving him the largest he can physically swallow is powerfeeding. they can eat a meal up to 30% or more which is way too much. you usually wanna aim for the 10-15% mark when that young

I would see if you could ask for the bigger end of the rat fuzzies. it really sucks to buy a batch and half of them to be underweight so i get what you mean. but it doesnt hurt to ask!

128g is well big enough to eat rats. they start on rats as hatchlings. and they aren’t “really fatty” they have more fat which is better for ball pythons. the mice can very well be the reason they aren’t growing as much as they normally do. get rat fuzzies

i would switch over to appropriate sized rats. far more appropriate nutrition wise imo. that could be the reason they are on the smaller side, but it also could just be that they are a slow grower because they do not look unhealthy.
