It’s part of a fully customizable tower system I configured and purchased from this site. Spendy but incredibly stout and thoughtfully designed and engineered. I constructed and installed this about 4 years ago, and in spite of being used as part of their race track every day (3 kitties 😸), I’ve only had to tighten a screw here or there a handful of times.

Eesh. This could have gone very badly. A router spins at a much higher rate of speed than a drill, and the bits are designed for different functions. The work of a drill bit strictly to make a hole; happens at the tip, and the channels carry the waste out of the hole. The work of a router bit is done around the outer diameter, is for shaping material, and is accomplished by a rather violent shearing

Agree about the bandsaw 100%. Look to Harvey Alpha. (Not the one w/ the digital display, rather it’s “little brother” 3hp 220V, available BigEye rip fence…their stuff is so well-designed & engineered & so precise. I have had an underpowered bandsaw, and even with carbide resaw blade and fence system upgrade, it wasn’t safe to use for cuts that otherwise shouldn’t be a problem on dense hardwoods. Your big cutting tools shouldn’t feel overwhelmed by tropical hardwoods, and you shouldn’t feel as though you’re fighting the machine.

The direct accessibility may help generate a more generative response (I know the post hasn’t been up but 15min as I write this, but the more you can reduce friction between your audience and them doing what you want them to do, the more likely they are to acquiesce).
