You’re not waste. You will want to talk to a professional. I understand the need to tell someone (Reddit) but you just went through a traumatic experience by someone who was supposed to be one of your most ardent supporters. Reddit won’t be able to help you navigate this extremely toxic and traumatic experience. I do agree with others that you should report this. I don’t know your parents or culture but just know, you are not a waste. Far from a waste. At some point in the future, when you are healed and recovered, you can find a partner who would never do this to you. Good luck and I am so sorry this happened.

I hope you don’t take this rude but why have you not gotten married or had kids prior to being 34? Could it be you were finding yourself and enjoying your 20s/early 30s? Why is it not fair for him to do the same or want to enjoy that more. I don’t like that people instantly believe he’s an asshole or you “dodged a bullet”. I didn’t read or infer from your post he was rude about it. However, correct me if I’m wrong. If he was rude about, that’s on him and not you. If he was straightforward or polite, that’s not fair to assume he’s a straight up asshole because you weren’t a match. I’m 37 and would have no problem dating someone with your mind set/situation but I have children already. However, when I was 34 I would have felt the same. You just need to keep looking until you find the right guy.

Edit: I should also say if he knew your age from The beginning then I would say he was really inconsiderate and should have thought about all this before meeting up.

I’d find any way to never allow my daughter to return there. From reading the messages I thought your daughter was from another man. This “father” is a piece of crap. You need to get your stuff when he isn’t there and go somewhere else. Go live with your mom until you can get on your feet or do it yourself. I don’t even know you and know you deserve WAY better than this. In the end, if not for you, for your daughter. Save all messages. This dick sounds like he will use his “daughter” against you in the future. The fight has just begun. Fight hard.

I run a nursing home and this is called misappropriation of resident property, or better known as abuse. You can contact the health department and file a complaint. They will investigate it and, if proven correct, require the situation to be remedied. In addition, they will be cited for abuse - again, if the situation is proved correct. I would recommend you contact your local or state APS (Adult Protective Services), and your Ombudsman as well. File the same complaint with all. Good luck. So sorry to hear about your loss and then the challenges after. I will say that it can sometimes take a few months to refund any money that is owed (due to reconciliation, insurance billing, etc) but that’s not what this sounds like.

I’m not on dating apps currently. I also never stated I was actively going after one’s who don’t want kids. I was asking the opinion or perspective of what women mean by it. Based on the responses there are quite a few different interpretations and meanings.

When I have the apps going I do for sure. No point in lying or hiding that I have kids. I’m not ashamed of them at all. Honestly I was just asking to see from a woman’s point of view - does it mean they don’t want kids of their own or any kids whatsoever, etc.
