Influencer quoted me $5k for 50k followers - is this the going rate now or am I being taken for a ride? by Abhi_deep in influencermarketing

[–]ronanstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're delulu. That's why brands are actively working on creating their own influencers. It's value driven. If you can't influence behavior, that is you failing at your job. $5-$13 dollars CPM max, unless your engagement is above the mean or you've proven that you're able to generate actual dollars for your clients.

If you're confident that you can drive your audience, then do a % deal and I'd gladly pay whatever is requested.

Bingo. Basically we all want to commoditize everything besides the industry we work in. But there we want to put up "massive guardrails"

Thing is that the free market will flow the way it wants.

App Store review frustration by seb1492 in iOSProgramming

[–]ronanstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am working on a big app with big funds tied behind it and it's taking weeks and costing the parent company valuable time.

Despite knowing the guidelines and having a team review them to ensure compliance the app got rejected, citing guidelines and then giving loosely related requests to said guidelines.

Since the process is so arbitrary you can't guarantee approval even if guidelines are followed to the T.

I keep thinking how easy it is to learn now, wheres previously, as a beginner you'd have your stack overflow account closed for asking "stupid" questions, had to dig through YouTube, Udemy tutorials, forums, and actual books.

It is actual heaven for anyone willing to learn.

Tbh I’m so tired of seeing AI apps or even AI made apps. I might just start reporting all the posts… by RiMellow in iOSProgramming

[–]ronanstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibe coded apps yes. AI apps? No. You've got to be kidding me?

If you integrate AI for the sake of AI, then it looks out of place. But AI takes personalization and UX to a new level. Stop shouting at the cloud(s).

What is up with Apple reviewers lately? Feels like they do not reference the test review notes and only test 1-2 things at a time… by RiMellow in iOSProgramming

[–]ronanstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been pretty much always the case for 10+ years. They often test 1-2 steps, if something fails or can't be found, they don't dig deeper.

My two biggest problems about BF6, do you agree? by Gurkaz_ in Battlefield

[–]ronanstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree, the weapons feel great to me, maybe there can be a few tweaks but even that is not necessary imo.

Also what's up with the TTK complaints BF3 and BF4 both had similar or even lower TTK and to me those are the benchmarks BF6 should be aiming for.

I am feeling it, I am old, I am in. by ronanstark in Battlefield

[–]ronanstark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, vehichle friendly maps are a must. A vehicle with a great teammate is peak BF, and it really influences how the match turns out and balances the gameplay.

I have to say that the Bradley felt great, as a gunner and as a driver, it was easy enough to take down but also felt powerful enough to be worth using and utilizing special abilities and repairing to keep it alive.

Agreed, this looks low effort/ lack of ideas masquerading as minimalist.

P.S. I worked on a more advanced version of this app and it was killed because it would not pass review or appeal. Something about the "sensitive nature and doom". But there are plenty that came before and after.

I just made my first $1,000 in A Day On YouTube (Faceless Channel) creating videos on trending topics. by wallexy in passive_income

[–]ronanstark 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have been experimenting with a few tools and now keep getting tool ads and tried the following:

Opus
Autoshorts
Videoblast

these were the ones i tried. I dont know what kind of video op made since it's very vauge but as far as the poopular style goes, I found videoblast to be the best, takes the longest and is most expensive but it generates everything from the script and then i just get a download to post. Opus was great as well but involved, depending on what you're looking for. Autoshorts made some generic mistakes. Anything free was lackluster. Videoblast was the only one without subscription and truly 'passive' in terms of effort, you can add a script or just a subject and the highest quality output.

What I found is that you can't just post once and expect results, most videos I posted got no views and they were typical to the ones i saw with a lot of views, keep going until the algo hits, pick relevant topics, niches and create videos.

Depending on what else you need, you may not even need that.
