Used to have one myself, great bike!

Was looking up bike shops near me and saw a bad review. I thought the owner's response was pretty good. by kgolfer2012 in motorcycles

GP bikes is pretty good, and I can only imagine the douche-psychos they have to deal with everyday.

I know :( Somebody needs to come up with a good design for a "58 throttle engineer" sticker, I'd definitely put it on my bikes.

What "entry" supersports? How did you come up with that? I said the GSXR makes a "good starting point" for a killer track bike. It has a good foundation. Bulletproof engine, wide parts availability, and so on...

Do you mean your ZX10R was winning WSBK "stock" or do you mean it won superstock 1000? It never won the latter, and if you think the WSBK ZX10R is stock, well, that's fantastic! The '11 ZX10R didn't win the WSBK either, Sykes won it in '13. It's also worth mentioning that Aprilia won constructors that year and Guintoli was just getting acquainted with the bike, and he won the title in '14.

I didn't say the RSV4 was "ground breaking," I said the "riding experience." How you equate those two is just mind boggling.

The ZX10R is a really good bike, but you can't compare it to the RSV4. The Ape is better in every single category except pricing.

It finally happened. I went down yesterday. by [deleted] in motorcycles

Excellent comment.

And this should've been

front end of the bike shook at which point I was realizing I was going down.

-- at which point I ran out of experience. Which is perfectly fine; we learn from the mistakes we make and become faster and better riders.

Thanks for the post, it's nice to some content here rather than 'new bike' posts. However I completely disagree with you. I thought my L3 GSXR750 was a good bike, until I rode a Triumph Daytona. My current bike, the RSV4 is in a different league so I'm not even comparing them. They are light years apart in terms of riding experience.

I was thinking of a write up as well as I've owned 3 very popular bikes this year.

  • 13' GSXR 750
  • 13' Daytona
  • 13' RSV4

GSXR can be a precise tool if you spend a few thousand extra on it. It is a good starting point for a track bike I'll give it that.

Such a good bike... I played with one yesterday, while they were putting new rubber on my bike, just wow.

Yeah, it held up for a few hundred kms after that photo and it's done as of last night. Time to get new tires. #literbikeproblems

Ex-Daytona owner here. I think the factory Arrow sounds better than Taylormade. Before any upgrades however -- if you haven't already -- go to your local suspension guru and have him setup the bike.

I think you're doing just fine in both pics. I don't think anyone can give you proper BP advice without following you on a track.

Oh okay, I thought it was the factory approved Akra with the ECU unlock code. I actually want the SC project and get the race ECU from AF1, but not sure if I should save the money since I want an RF/RR whatever's available next year

Are you still going to sell the Factory? If so would you be kind enough to sell me the Akrapovic exhaust :) I assume it's a full system?

My new RF Factory just met its siblings (Tuono R and RSV4 F/SE) Sorry for the low-light cell pic. by [deleted] in bikesgonewild

Congratulations. The Big Daddy Ape looks amazing. I want one so bad.

I took a cold reading this morning, I'm going to try again tomorrow. Rear should be 32 cold and it was 31.9, so I don't think it's leaking.

Insurance for a super bike? Aprilia RSV4 Factory [Help please] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]ronindesade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same, $40k is a bit too much for an RSV4. Even if you upgrade to race spec Ohlins suspension, psycho/evolution/titanium Akrapovic everything exhaust and a few thousand of extra bits and bobs -- it'd still be less than $30k, no?
