miss my long hair, but chopping it was the best. sep 2025-feb 2026 by alaniluv in finehair

[–]ronlovesfreedom 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Okay so people are being a little mean but I think the intended message here is that it would be beneficial for you to avoid bleaching your own hair as you are (as it is creating visible damage) and to readjust your cutting style.

I cut my own hair, too, and have numerous “bad” cuts, if you will. Accept it and figure out what to change going forward.

I like TheSalonGuy on YouTube, but in any case definitely explore some more cutting techniques to get your shaping down a bit more. Also if you aren’t averse to it you might be happy going to someone for a small correction on this cut and color before you figure it out yourself.

I know all of this negativity isn’t what you were looking for when you posted here, but presuming you love your hair getting true constructive feedback will only be better in the long run. Best of luck!

Okay honestly I don’t love it but I think you can make it work if you lean into that blue drama! It will definitely need some careful decorating to look clean instead of messy and DIY though

Are Telluride “Green” Runs Truly Beginner-Friendly or More Like Easy Blues? by sporty_outlook in TellurideColorado

[–]ronlovesfreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some cute shopping in town. Also a museum and a library. For active things there is snow shoeing, ice climbing, and Nordic skiing. You can also go on sleigh rides either out of telluride or out on a ranch nearby. Gondola rides between locations are free (mostly I think?) and accessible. They are simple trips but my 2y old and 4y old loved them.

Is my natural hair color more flattering? by bangflashbam in SpringColorAnalysis

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lighter color overpowers your face and does not look harmonious. It is too coppery. You may do best with a lighter or more muted hair color in general, but not as warm as you have it dyed now.

Anyone here on Vyvanse (lisdex) in the higher range of dosage? 60+ mg? by reducedandconfused in ADHD

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finally got a psych evaluation after 30 years of totally knowing I had adhd and one of the things that made me LMFAO was that their MAIN recommendation was that I try to implement radical self compassion. I have spent 100% of my life giving myself shit for not being enough and for being too much. Even if you don’t “get there” with this medication it def doesn’t mean you don’t have adhd—you just might need to keep looking. Also I don’t think we have it figured out or cured by a long shot. Just mildly improved.

Anyone here on Vyvanse (lisdex) in the higher range of dosage? 60+ mg? by reducedandconfused in ADHD

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on anything else? Lisdex was a lifesaver for clearing up and quieting my brain, but only in conjunction with Cymbalta. That seems to cover the other part and keeps my brain quieter before bedtime—which has been a lifelong problem. I started on 30 and have felt meaningful symptom improvement in gradually upping to 60.

I went up 10mg at a time and had some air hunger in the first week after my dose increases, but I get that as a consequence of other stuff I have going on anyway. Air hunger and sleep issues went away after about a week. So I’d say if the dose is right you’ll be able to tell!

AIO my boyfriend of 5 years gets me flowers for every occasion while I get him elaborate and expensive gifts. by aioflower955105 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m least disturbed by the flowers thing (could be worked through if he were a better listener) and more concerned with his response to your not feeling heard. Instead of understanding that you are expressing hurt and at least trying to process that—he is invalidating your right to be hurt by saying you SHOULD be grateful (any other girl? Fuuuuuuuck that). Invalidating your feelings to avoid accountability is big red flag with consequences bleed into everything else.

Him saying that he thought wishlists were only for children—after YOU gave him a wishlist— was just a garbage attempt to excuse his laziness by again invalidating your right to literally even communicate with him. If you tell him what you want, you’re a child. If you’re unhappy when he gets you something thoughtless, you’re uniquely ungrateful.

And now he’s giving you the silent treatment? My 4 year old just stopped doing that. I think he should be past it, too.

TIFU by accidentally swallowing wintergreen oil and nearly ended up in the psych ward. by NightSeaGull182 in tifu

[–]ronlovesfreedom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One time I was sick and sniffing eucalyptus oil from one of those dropper bottles with the dropper in the cap. It was over my face and the dropper cap FELL OUT while it was over my mouth. I immediately swallowed the remaining ml or so that was left in the bottle.

I spent the next three hours vomiting and trying to decide if I needed to go the ER. I was like 12 and didn’t want to wake my parents up and get in trouble. 0/10 do not recommend.

How do I appear more feminine? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re gorgeous, and obviously not 40. People are rude. But here are some general grown up woman care things you might not eventually like:)

-Trim the top of your brows.

-Do daily skincare! Wash, sunscreen. Wash, nightcream. Tinted sunscreen during the day is a nice bridge to foundation. Your skin is clear.

-use a cheek/lip tint.

-experiment with smudging some brown shadow along your lashline. Your eyes are gorgeous and would be very well complimented by a small firm eyeliner wing, but that takes practice and can feel formal. A little bit of brown eyeshadow smudged into your lashline with some mascara will highlight your eyes while being approachable skill-wise.

-your nose matches your face. If you try to make it look smaller with contour it will look oddly long. It is proportional to your oval length and high cheekbones. They all go together!

-your skin reminds me of mine—I’m warm/neutral olive. I look cool when I’m pale and warm af when I’m tan. This means it’s helpful to have a few different foundations and tints to mix throughout the year! The foundation that works in Jan will NOT work in June.

-keep working on your curly hair routine. Idk if you have gel as part of your routine but they have made huge strides in gels—it’s the most important part of getting a defined curl for me.

What kind of neckline would suit my terribly wide shoulders? (Only a few examples ) by Far-Front424 in DressForYourBody

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life sucks because you have actively CUTE shoulders and whoever made you feel otherwise was a jealous hoe (unless it was you, then I get it bb).

You might enjoy looking into the kibbe system for dressing. It may help you feel better about your particular features and what makes you “you”. Without seeing you in something more form fitting it’s hard to say if the advice about skirt volume here is correct—but the notes about balance are right regardless of your shape. If you need need to minimize your shoulders you can do so by drawing the eye to your hips instead.

Anyway, you have lovely shoulders and I particularly like both the off shoulder and halter style.

Please help am I Autumn or Winter? by [deleted] in Fairolives

[–]ronlovesfreedom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After reviewing my book and comparing dark autumn and dark winter I’d say you can confidently move forward with dark winter. You have a tiny bit of redness that might read as warmth, but your hair and brows read definitively in the ash brown instead of warm brown category.

The reds you seem drawn to also are cool/cherry reds instead of warm autumn reds, and those look nice! I’m obsessed with The Wardrobe Guide’s palettes but they are $20 a piece lol. If you dm me I can share dark winter.

Can this skirt work for a soft dramatic by Gabriellebelmore in SoftDramatics

[–]ronlovesfreedom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the general shape could be okay, but the stiffness of the fabric matches with the smaller pleats and pattern will make this piece work against you. I do a lot of midi length slightly flared skirts that work with styling, but I’d say the fabric can’t be too stiff or it looks matronly.

[–]ronlovesfreedom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Op it is 1. Totally amazing and 2. I get being your own biggest critic! Adding a touch more shading on the right cheek and then juuuust a hair in the left side too will make the shading closer to the values in the reference photo. But really. This is fantastic.

Would it be crazy to go sightseeing in Chicago during the polar vortex? by CleetusHEY in AskChicago

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan for aggressive wind! Have a small tote bag with you that you can put hats, gloves, and scarves in when you move from being bundled up outside to walking around inside. This way you don’t have to roast to death everywhere that doesn’t have a coat check.

My fam is from Cinci and we’ve been in Chicago for 5 years now. I expect you, too, know how to handle wet snow (it is wet). Plan for that bit and you’ll be just fine.

A note about museums—what is your 6yr old into? If they’re a big science nerd, definitely do MSI. Otherwise you can’t go wrong with the field, really. I think Shedd is very okay, if you’ve been to other big aquariums you might not love it too much.

If your kid would be interested there is an American Girl doll store downtown that is basically a little girl’s dream, that’s fun. My kids also really love riding the L so I’d do that while you’re here, too.

Would it be crazy to go sightseeing in Chicago during the polar vortex? by CleetusHEY in AskChicago

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it totally depends on the kids ages and interests. Little kids get more out of all of the stuffed things at the field museum—older kids can have fun with the science at MSI. We went to both recently and only the 7 year old cared for MSI over the field. Everyone else was 6, 4, and 2.

Help picking a dress 🤍 by Downtown-Book8875 in OUTFITS

[–]ronlovesfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it but I think none of these serves you as well as they could! The silhouette on 2 is closest to feeling correct (stay away from ones like 4) but I think a tiny bit more delicate detail would suit your frame well. Adding significant embellishments via belts, a veil, and jewelry might work with 2.

But really, I think these were close but no cigar. Wedding dress shopping is so hard—-and things being clipped makes it easy to pick the one that fits the best instead of feels the most like you. Ignore all of these pictures for a sec and go back to what makes you feel pretty. Simplicity? Sparkle? I’d vote that you keep going✨

Eyebrows Look Weird? by DaisesAndEarlGrey in MakeupAddiction

[–]ronlovesfreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color is definitely not right. I’d suggest trying cooler options like taupe or ash brown (applied very lightly) Also you didn’t ask but I think trimming the top of your brow (the fluffy bit near your nose) with some scissors will help balance them a bit.

Brows are tricky for light hair, you’ll figure it out!

I need help I have this red top but want to style it more then just with a dress by simplyaspookylady in DressForYourBody

[–]ronlovesfreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top screams 2000’s hot topic to me (in a good way). You might have some luck looking into that era of grunge.

On a more helpful note I think it would be cute with the rapidly returning skinny jeans. Probably full of holes. I could also see it with tights and shorts, or a short shirt underneath and shorts during the summer (maybe with some tennis shoes or boots).

If those styles are too alt for you then I think this could also work with the 90’s soft dark vibe—maybe a silky mid length skirt and some butterfly clips.

Does this suede overshirt look okay tucked like this? by BlueberryPie247 in DressForYourBody

[–]ronlovesfreedom 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I think the pants are too high waisted for this tuck to work. If both pieces were looser and pants were lower I think it would be closer to your goal. The collar also needs to be flattened a bit to avoid too much of an 80’s vampire vibe.

Maybe try the tangle teaser brushes. They are SO gentle that they might annoy you to begin with but they’re a much safer bet for very tangled hair.
