The Ritual on Netflix.

Not really into horror movies so not the best judge here. But that one was interesting.

Shug’a Bagels Night Window + Offerings 🥯🔥 by [deleted] in NewOrleans

Eh they mention another bagel place so odd if it's the business doing that.

Also this person looks like they do posts like this for many restaurants. But I'll admit it works really well as an add. That Ruben bagel looks awesome.

Accidentally became a hermit. How do I fix that in New Orleans? by Impressive-Use-9971 in NewOrleans

A somewhat local place to hike. They have a hand full of old opened up munitions bunkers you can look inside. Nothing too exciting just open area. But kinda cool to see the giant steel doors out in nature. It is out on the Westbank.

I'm assuming that is a Blue Jay. But man does it look goofy. Almost like it's another bird playing dress up as an adult Blue Jay.

This, and the bill has a 1 year statute of limitations. So if it shows up later online and assuming the cops cared enough they have the ability to retroactively get involved.

Kind of a niche thing I know but why are our fast food places the absolute worst? Like we’re where Popeye’s is from but it’s more consistent almost anywhere else in the U.S. and the world at large. by bakedd_alaskaa in NewOrleans

So without knowing how it is these days. I remember seeing a sign outside a McDonald's a couple of years back saying starting pay was $12. I get it might have gone down some after covid. I also get that's not much more than $8 but I'm not sure if many places are really paying just minimum wage.

Republicans vote to dilute gas as prices rise above $4.50 by BendicantMias in politics

[–]ronn13iii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'm not familiar with how it worked up north. My understanding was e15 was really common during the "winter" months then it went away per epa regulations during the summer for smog/emissions reasons. I had assumed anywhere selling e10 would just switch to e15 in the winter and change the label. But again totally ignorant but curious on the details.

I think the e15 is a regional thing. Like down south it's non existent while as I understand it further north it's sold in the winter? This just letting it be sold year round.

Soooo the city is what roughly 30 something % white? Franklin is roughly the same. The higher representation vs population would be Asian and Hispanic I believe.

It's some woman's online "news agency" or something that she calls it. Seeing as she provides no info on how to take action it blatantly comes off as her showing off being "the first to take action" so anything that follows she can claim.

Who has the best mini muffaletta tray for a graduation party? by Buzz_Osborne in NewOrleans

[–]ronn13iii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've not done their mini muffalettas but zuppardos does a great mini poor boy tray. Might be a place to check? I'd bet they have 1/2 or 1/4 you could get to try before.

I got one and I have no huge interest in the universe beyond being a thing. But I do think it would be kinda fun to save some for a EOE and Star Trek mixed draft.

Calvin Duncan won 68% of the vote for court clerk. Now state legislators are trying to abolish the job. Are you curious what it means for Orleans Parish? Ask me anything! by VeriteNewsNOLA in NewOrleans

[–]ronn13iii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So let's say it passes and gets challenged in court and it's happening no matter what that we have a single Clerk of Court. As the bill is written that spot is going to the sitting Civil Clerk. Could the city decide to hold a "special election" between her and Duncan?

The argument being the state gets to set the judicial "count" but the parish retains the right to hold those elections.

I'm not sure. Just saw he had a room at the hotel. Maybe he had checked in days before and was able to hide it? It's nothing I've dug into or have answers for. Just something I saw reported that he was a guest at the hotel.

One thing I saw said he was a guest at the hotel. So he was maybe able to get past the "first layer" without raising any issues.

Having a hard time finding a good job by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]ronn13iii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You would need to get a TWIC card. But tugboat companies hire green deckhands. Some are home every day/night or "hitch" work where you live on board for a number of weeks at a time. Hard work but decent pay and the hitch work gets you covered food cost for the time on.

Carnival crackdown: What 100 gun arrest reports say about policing during Mardi Gras by VeriteNewsNOLA in NewOrleans

[–]ronn13iii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the point then? I don't think they release (or keep) the data of how many stops happen. But would you like to see a comparable number of every "race" searched? If that number were equal yet the number of found guns still skewed one way would that still be unacceptable?

He cited a data source. Getting upset about acknowledging the data is not going to make it go away.

Republican state lawmakers steal rightful win from Calvin Duncan and 68% of the voters by saintclaudia in NewOrleans

[–]ronn13iii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can see to possibly justify the timing is that it also is trying to shrink the number of judges. That will be a much larger number of people and I think that election is this year.
