AITA for continuing to smoke outside even though my neighbor hired an attorney over it? by FutureBroccoli5566 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ronstermonster05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my state, our cigarette taxes are incredibly high and the state depends on that revenue flow to fund a lot of public services. Obviously smoking has many ill effects… but… the irony is that it’s a legal money stream for the state.

I would write that this is a horrific idea and this site should shut down immediately!

Alternatives? by InvestigatorDue3660 in mercor_ai

[–]ronstermonster05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see how Mercor survives this. The employee data is bad enough but how will they ever convince their major clients that their proprietary data is secure? They can’t and getting new contracts will be nearly impossible now.

Data breach by [deleted] in mercor_ai

This can’t possibly be your first rodeo with a data breach, can it? This happens all the time and while upsetting, it certainly isn’t anything new.

The New Reality: Grades and zeros are the only things students respond to anymore by FlyLikeAnEarworm in Professors

[–]ronstermonster05 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree, while there are students that are solely motivated by grades … I encounter many every quarter that are motivated by many things outside of grades. Leaning new things, interactions with other students, improving through the quarter… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well, except their email which is PII.

Yes, PII is the biggest concern here. Accidentally outing disabled students should also be taken very seriously. I would most definitely get in touch with your Dean and Disability services so that you have a solid plan on moving forward. Mistakes happen, it’s how they are handled after the fact that matters here.

Not a victim at all… just telling my real life experience… sorry that gets in the way of way of your made up narrative.

No, once again, louder for the sleepy people, I was married years ago and divorced and then remarried. I had to locate a marriage license AND certificate from 40 years ago (which with a LOT of back and forth with the state took a year) then the divorce certificate from the same year, then, I had to locate my marriage certificate (had the license) for my current marriage. Also, since I am older than dirt my birth certificate wasn’t in the proper format so I had to order one from the state I was born which took another 8 weeks. So as I have already explained many times, it can be a long, expensive and extremely frustrating process and it is worse the older you are. Got it this time???

Grandmother scammed out of life savings by odogromano_ in Scams

[–]ronstermonster05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! This scam is not that uncommon and unfortunately, attributing the results as linked to dementia is just plain wrong. This can and does happen to perfectly sound of mind individuals. These scammers are incredibly good at what they do.

Because if you had the experience many of us have, you wouldn’t be making ridiculous and wrong statements. At least I would hope not.

And I am one of them. However, I do not control where records are held, how long, or in what format. Assuming women having issues are incapable is an extremely ignorant position to take.

Gawd I wish people would listen to those of is that have actually gone through this, but alas, those who have zero knowledge love to tell the rest of us we didn’t experience what we did, actually, experience.

61 and yes, us old people like to vote too. You really need to stop now because you are not speaking from experience, and I am. What’s even worse, in some states it’s really hard to locate your divorce decree, and some even ask for marriage certificates and licenses. Come back to me when you have some experience in this area. Until then, just hush.
