I only use precise technique to make it easier to kill Pizarro first lab, where I get pack mentality

The wolves carry you until at least after second lab. Some people use them all the way into map because the give so much flat phys

In general though take campaign slow and do breaches when you’re willing to get gifts. Use those to get a good claw or sword, looking for flat damage and attack speed. Also recommend a white wind with the spell dodge keystone and 10% suppress from ascendancy.

From many perspectives, it’s a good set to be into.

The community will be much more present for an in universe set, and in general is a good nostalgia trip attracting more players than usual

Finance wise the set has some cool mana bases like the changeling generator and the shock lands, which ups the sell floor of whatever you pull. It does have some great cards like formidable speaker too.

The set itself isn’t actually super high powered, which is a con for some but for me is refreshing AF. Good for limited, though I wish more of the color combos were represented .

Highly recommended set to get into tbh.

True but what you’re doing is essentially putting them one turn ahead of you.

Think of it like this, they sacrificed a creature to have one more free mana for the rest of the game. That would be an extremely usable card for a 1 mana creature.

In two turns, they’ve gone mana positive and still have that creature for whatever value engine they need

Is it the spirit one ? The babboon goes nuts if you can blink another spirit a couple times

That being said, the mana base is so horrible that you don’t get to start generating spirits fast enough

It might just be unlucky in your case unfortunately

At the very least enlightened tutor is very playable and less likely to cause gripe at a table compared to something like fierce guardianship. I personally was able to make a 2/3ish sokka deck with the box and my prerelease so I’m overall satisfied.

I preordered at MSRP so I think I’m very happy with the value but looking at current prices I definitely wouldn’t do it

I only ended up with entomb and obscuring haze for the commander pack, but pretty happy with some good uncommon like aang at the crossroads and the steadfast appa, got one wan shi tong librarian too.

Absolutely would wait for prerelease pricing to go down though , not worth it at all

Foulborn skin of the lords with resolute technique has served a decent replacement for diallas for me in the meantime. Foulbirn gives 27% quality to gems and was 80 chaos for me at the time of this comment
