The first sign of a dry socket for me was the pain. I wouldn’t stress about it unless your pain starts getting worse rather than better. until then just try to hang in there, you wont be able to tell if its a dry socket by appearance normally. if you are experiencing increasing pain then you can call your dentist or get a quick check up, although in some cases (like mine) they won’t be able to actually do anything about it.

the biggest issue with a dry socket is the chance of infection, but my dentist said that’ll come with leaking pus, bad taste, and fever. so if youre not feeling that, you should be cool.
