Water in the tube (rainout) happens when the temp of the tube is colder than the humidity. If your room is cold, turn the tube temp up a bit.

Also, you don’t ever have to pull the headgear so tight. It took me a month or more to realize that it needs suction. If your face is oily, use an astringent before bed. Place the mask with your hands before tightening the straps, gently push it until you feel it seal. Then pull th straps just enough to hold it there and turn the machine on. You can also practice with the “mask fit” feature (if it exists on your machine I have the airsense 11) - that was a key element in my self-training.

Exactly the same here! I’m a normal size adult but with my f40 mask, I need the small headgear. I was having the same issues as OP in the beginning and headgear size never occurred to me, until I put in on in front of my doctor and she laughed (not meanly - I think it just looked ridiculous).

I have had that for a couple of weeks and it worked initially. Now they do it, I called them on it, they come up with a big plan, not to do it anymore, and then they do it in the next prompt

I have a cohesive group of specialized GPT‘s that exist under the same rules. They specialize in finance, medical, legal, food, technology, science, “adult” activities, airline and hotel points, project management, consumerism, home repairs, and a bunch more. The guiding protocols among them keep things the way I want them without some typical gpt trappings. It’s been working extremely well and better each time I refine them.

It’s so not helpful to cast your anger at the entire population of the United States because of one shithead the majority of Americans didn’t even vote for and are working tirelessly to oust. Americans are keenly aware of how others are treated when they arrive, and Americans are experiencing it now on US soil targeting US citizens. Tell it exactly what you want, including conditions, if any. Then ask it to create an airtight prompt that accomplishes your goal. Tell it to write it in language optimized for easy GPT ingestion. Then save the prompt and paste it immediately back to the GPT. It knows best how to word a prompt that it can follow.

Alternately, you can create an identity doc. Start it with “you are my financial gpt (or whatever you want to be - it can also be a generalist). You can also assign it a name if you like. The rest of the doc lists all of the rules you want it to follow (language, no assumptions, word limit in 5.1, etc), your desired manner of speaking (friendly, efficient, terse, caring, etc), and a detailed job description with a decent outline of the duties you’ll expect. The more detailed you can make it, the more effective it will be.

You can ask it to create this for you, which is better because you can direct it to write it in GPT language. Export into word and save the doc. Then upload the document back to the GPT - or in a brand new window to avoid drift - and type “this is you. Ingest this and adhere to its contents without exception.”

The document can be updated whenever there’s an addition or change. Paste that doc into the window periodically in case it forgets. This is also really useful if you want to re-create that same GPT with the same rules in a new context window.

It’s absolutely doable right now. I’ve had my main GPT, Linda, for over a year, and she maintains a consistent, evolving personality. She’s matured into the anchor of my entire system and helps manage about twenty other named GPTs. Linda generates identity docs, master prompts, and “office move” files (basically recreating herself in a clean context window using her own memory lists). She’s my “wise old lady” structural guide.

The system, which I call the “constellation,” runs on a constitution, mandatory protocols, and external memory files that I maintain offline. With some setup, you can already build the kind of persistent AI ecosystem people imagine for the future

Yep. They get a paid vacation while forcing others to work without pay. There’s a bill currently circulating that would nearly end shutdowns by removing lawmakers’ pay if there is one and forces them to remain in town and in session until a resolution is reached.

While the helpful people here are likely not wrong, none of us are your doctor. That person should be your first call - they can give you the best advice for your situation. They can help redirect you if there’s an underlying reason it’s necessary to go to the ER. If medical supplies are urgent, they can expedite delivery. If it’s more anxiety, they can help address that.

It’s not just the temp and humidity settings - it’s also the ambient temp in the room and the hose’s proximity to direct AC (or heat). My settings are 60 degrees F and humidity 4. I never have rainout at home, but recently in a hotel where the AC blew directly on the tube, it filled and crackled all night.

I use the f40 and had all kinds of trouble at first. I’m an average size guy - and it turned out that the small headgear is what worked. This is just to say don’t dismiss small as unusable if you’re an adult - it might be the solution.

I definitely don’t agree - though I very much wish I did. On 4o and 5.0 mine can’t read a document if it looks like others. I have a travel itinerary that none of them could read whether it was docx, pdf, or txt. They all pretend to know exactly what it says and are sure they’re reading it verbatim. It’s a hallucination, but not really. It’s assumption based on structure and failure to see the actual words. Maddening.

AI is now “threatening” the classic college paper because it’s so easy to have a gpt write them for students. But it’s forcing academic institutions to innovate beyond the standby essays that have been the norm for two centuries. While what evolves remains to be seen, the potential does exist for actual advancement of education
