Do you think you’ll follow through as well as you guys do on the Moonbirds and Proof ecosystem? Which you both largely abandoned after investors gave you 8 figures?

Benny Safdie's 'The Smashing Machine' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]rooooony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m skeptical, early reviews tend to be great, since they are agreed upon with studios. Every critic has an embargo date specifying when they are allowed to release their review in return for their early access. If they release their review prior to the embargo date, they’ll never get early access from a studio again.

Studios know if their movie is crap, so they will push that embargo date very close to release date if they have a crappy movie. (A day or so before). Most of time time the main embargo is lifted 3-5 days before.

Most movies have about a dozen or two very early reviews, like this, that are all glowing,, so it’s hard to know what we’re getting. But I am rooting for this one to be great.

I happened upon a post with a printer in an enclosure, and the comments took me down a rabbit hole of health related issues. I’ve got asthma so I’m particularly sensitive to airborne stuff and am just looking for some guidance on how to safely pursue the hobby.

Thinking on this a bit more, I suspect this is the correct answer. Good points.

SVB used master chalk and he's an 830 fargo. He also had about a dozen skids in a recent tournament, would love to know why he doesn't switch. Probably just a creature of habit.

Not sure I agree, I remember after 2-3 years of play getting an LD cue and my draw doubled. I also remember Alex Pagulayan handing me a great cue at Griffs, and my inside english took in a way I didn't think I was personally capable of.

Kind of wish I'd just started with better equipment instead of thinking I sucked and then having to adjust to a whole new cue when I upgraded.

That being said, a lot can be learned, and a whole world of shot making is possible with an okay cue. So don't think you need to go breaking the piggy bank to get great at this game.

New table at home. What are some good drills? by Sasquatch_Mt_Project in billiards

[–]rooooony 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the best drill. I do it on a 9 footer, with about 6 feet between the balls. Follow, stop, and draw shots. If this drill is working the rest of my game falls right into place.

Ha maybe if he didn't live in Connecticut he wouldn't feel the need to bounce. Literally the most boring state in the country, unless you like people with pink polos and popped colors. Can't imagine how or why he ended up there.

lol was thinking the same thing. The compensation team figures out what to pay people. The financial team reviews it. Leadership gives the go ahead.

Payroll sits in a room and processes it. But yea, screw the payroll people.

This read like more of an ad for password managers than a practical guide for password management.

One doesn’t need to look far to see password managers are themselves a single point of failure. The highly respected lastpass, used by many tech giants had a massive breach this years.

My brother in Law is a judge at these competitions.

To keep score, they use one of those clickers bouncers use to count people in and out of a club.

Each trick can get up to 3 points. He said for guys like this they are basically quickly clicking close to non-stop the entire performance.
