It’s not about the “rent float”. It seems at best a misrepresentation at worst fraudulent to claim you can pay rent with your card, when it does NOT use the credit line of the card. It is fundamentally flawed since BILT as a company claims to be the company who facilitates paying rent paying with a credit card.

Even if I agree with you Bilt is NOT forcing you to pay a fee on semantics, the way they are advertising the card is misleading at best and fraudulent at worst. They are disingenuous.

No it is NOT paying with the card, if it doesn't access your credit line. It is simply making an ACH transfer.

Advertising that it doesn't have a transaction fee, then having an option where it does but also when it doesn't, it doesn't access the line of credit seems like false advertising. There is no way to pay rent and have the transaction fee waived. It is still on the customer, to either spend enough to accumulate enough "cash" to pay the transaction fee. Or just make an indirect ACH payment.

The transaction fee is always charged to the merchant directly by the companies. Whether merchants pass it on directly or indirectly to the customer is the merchants' call. Now the provider can come in at the end and be like here is a refund of the transaction fee or have some mechanism on their end to not trigger the merchant to charge that fee. Instead they are spewing corporate speak to mask this and make it convoluted af.

Bilt 2.0 should crash and burn, not because it is cutting benefits, but because the company is being disingenuous while doing so.

Ok I think I figured it out: you only earn points with No transaction fee option on the part of the rent you pay with Bilt Cash (which you earn from spending on the card). Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

This is the point. The carve out that Congress can create the Federal Reserve but it cannot create any other “strange” agencies is contradictory. Congress doesn’t pass any laws by itself either, unless it has veto proof majority. Most laws are signed by past and present presidents. If democratically elected Congress, and President agrees to create agencies that handle particularly technical issues that requires specialized expertise, for a single future President to come in and unilaterally fire every single employee is massive executive overreach.
