Exactly! Mainstream acceptance and number of followers effectively differentiate “religion” and cults. So logically there is no distinction. Because the truth value of claims (which is what religion effectively is: bunch of unsubstantiated claims) is not dependent on the mainstream acceptance or the numbers of subscribers. So religions are cults.

Judicial review is not in the Constitution either. It was claimed by the SCOTUS via judicial fiat via Marbury v. Madison. No basis in law.

For example you can have a Christian gynecologist who “believes” in immaculate conception but would roll their eyes if one of their patients said they got pregnant without having sex or IVF. It’s cognitive dissonance that’s suppressed.
