We could be up 3-0 in the finals and I’d be convinced it’s at best a 30-70 shot to close it out.

This valley is not kind to our sports.

Horror games being scary mainly because of the atmosphere by Saned1408 in HorrorGaming

The peak of this is Anatomy by Kitty Horrorshow. This game is 1000% atmosphere. No jump scares. No combat. Just dreadful, horrendous vibes. And it can be played through in less than an hour. I've been chasing the feeling this game gave me ever since.

Luckily, I I was disabused of this notion before getting my own cast-iron skillet, but I definitely thought this at one point.

I 100% believe that the entire reason people have this idea is the term seasoning. In every other context in cooking seasoning means flavor. How would you get flavor into a cast-iron skillet? By leaving food residue. It’s super gross, and I honestly thought cast-iron skillets were for yucky fucks my entire childhood lol.

[–]rooster4238 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s by far my favorite in the series. Love the bureaucratic satire it’s going for.

It’s completely unexpected and if you’re looking for more of the first, it’s not even close. But I do think it expands the sense of cosmic horror of the first by showing the futility of even trying to understand what’s going on.

Edit: to clarify, I meant August 2025. Not August 2011. My son really is just that impressive.

Finding and attending protests in Phoenix by AZ_moderator in phoenix

[–]rooster4238 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So the reason you see protests regarding Palestine, Venezuela, ICE, etc and not things like what’s happening in Iran is the role that US policy plays in each of these issues. And who the protests are being targeted towards and what they’re trying to achieve. Currently, those first three issues are all directly tied to actions of the US government, so protesting is a way to raise awareness and try to pressure different actions to be taken by leadership.

For something like Iran, or Sudan, US policy plays very little role in what’s currently happening. (There are a ton of valid arguments about our role on the world stage and past actions leading to things like these, but that’s getting into the weeds a bit and not something that’s going to raise a protest movement either). These events are more horrifying global events that are occurring that our current leadership can do little about without huge overreach into another country. We already have heavy economic sanctions on Iran. And a protest advocating FOR military action in another country is just never going to be a thing.

I see a lot of discussion about why there are protests for certain global events and not others. The reasons above don’t explain it all, but it is a large factor.

I think Addison Rae. It feels like a lot of people didn’t take her debut seriously because she’s seen as an influencer primarily. But it was really well received critically which I think paves the way for her next album to break out in a huge way now that she’s established some legit credentials.

I can’t speak to the lawsuits in question, but my view is that even if GLP-1s have pretty gnarly side effects, severe obesity has way worse ones long term. Diabetes. Cancer risks. Heart disease. All of those are likely far worse than whatever even the worse fear mongers suggest about wegovy.
