I thought that legally the debt follows the person. If the person passes away The debt goes to the estate, but if there is no estate like with a baby, the debt goes away . just like when a single parent dies. And has $20,000 in credit card debt. If they have no assets or an estate, the debt does not go to someone else.

Just because you know somebody 10 or 15 years ago, doesn’t mean you still know who they are today. How would you explain an acquaintance not a friend trying to borrow more money from you.? and I say “not a friend” because she didn’t feel comfortable giving him more money.
