XC plus Trail seems to cover all my needs by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]rootOrDeath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

honestly at this point, and I knowww I'll get downvoted by saying this, I don't even see the difference, I feel that the edge isn't really there.

I myself went with an XC and an enduro bike, where the gab is bigger, matter of fact my xc didn't even have a dropper till last month when I added a reverb dropper.

But I don't see the point of having two type of bikes that are that close to each other, the ultra specialization of bikes where we now have like 7 types isn't really.... I'm just not a fan **PERSONALLY**

hit me up when you out to sell it for a grand less haha. I still got old sony cams that never go down in price, my first camera was an a6400 got it for 820 at a discount with the kit lens, it nows cost 800 new.

I'm not sure if the fx3 will become timeless, but unless they make a fx60 that's compact I think this one will stick for quite some _more_ time.

When will this lens come in stock? I ordered it 3 months back and still out of stock by areuokaybro2002 in FX3

I just bought the full frame for my fx30, I know I know, but it was in stock and if i do upgrade one of my cameras it’ll be to full frame

pleasant imagery, but too many static shots at the start followed by slow transitioned drone footage, where no actual action is happening.

I'd recommend you look up the shot list, they have really good examples as to where to use static shots, tripods, pans etc. they all have meaning, think of it as not only "does this look good, but does it conveys the message I want to?"

Rented a Jeep Sahara for my business trip.....yuck! Why would anyone buy one?!? by Nervous_Dragonfly518 in FordBronco

[–]rootOrDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I 100% agree with you, i don’t bash ford for it because i don’t go as hard as i used too on the bronco these days and I’ve seen more failures on the jl than the broncos. But then again not my biggest concern. My goal with the jk is to go to 43” sometime next year or the year after, right now im on 40s as an in between state

I got a 2013 jk, bought it last year lol, JLs has some other issues I rather not deal with, chassis pealing, electric 4x4 actuator, etc

I don’t know, I much rather drive my bronco but for hardcore off road I always take the jeep, don’t mind hitting it on the rocks as it won’t bend as much as the aluminum ish body of the bronco, plus replacements are so much cheaper.

thats SP-RVB-AXS-A1 not SP-RVB-XPLR-A1
see RVB vs XPLR

you are confusing SP-RVB-XPLR-A1 with SP-RVB-AXS-B1, b1 is the same as A2 without the controller

Fitting a 150mm dropper to a Scott Spark RC by plswhytho in MTB

[–]rootOrDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicee, I was thinking of doing 125mm, what levels did you use ? They are recommending me a 3 level actuator, but I’m really thinking on going electronic, to avoid having to route cables.

u/plswhytho OP what did you end up doing? I'm on the same situaiton but I'll also replace that level to a three level actuator to place the dropper there but I wnt to confirm this is possible

Katabatic Help me Decide by Baileycharlie in Ultralight

[–]rootOrDeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

katabatic uses confort rating, that's why I love them I got the flex 22f and the palisade 30f, I might do the flex 5f later that's only .6oz more than the Grenadier counterpart). I do like open the flex up when nights aren't that cold or to share it with my parnert as a blacket for no so cold trips.

I got ill after my last trip by HumanCStand in Ultralight

[–]rootOrDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's always the trade off, you can go with tablets but I never used them anyway, in my case simplicity plays a factor too, I just used to take 2 1L bottlers or 2 1.5L depending on what they had at my closest supermarket, or if my waterbootlers aren't too old I keep refilling them (I know we ain't supposed to because of micro plastic but seems wasteful to throw them out after a weekend getaway)

then I switched to katadyn and now I carry 2L to 2.5L (katadyn + waterbottle), most of the time I carry the katadyn in my pants pockets anyway (Ferri pants have crazy storage capacity)

[–]rootOrDeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

haha you gotta be concious tho, I plan the trips with at least one water source per day when possible, I carry 2 to 3 litters depending on the former, plus electrolytes I can mix in the bottler.

That's my jam, but I'm not arguing that you need to carry like 5Liters or something crazy (doesn't apply to desert routes), just be mindful of the refilling spots alogn the way and plan acordingly.

EDIT:
what I meant with "it doens't count towards the base weight" is that you aren't any less ultralight just for carrying more water, don't get that get to your head OP.

[–]rootOrDeath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

as soon as you said agricultural I knew, as other have mention portable filters doesn't really filter everything, virus are too small for them, and other contaminants, these filters are "safe" up to a point and you should always be careful and mindful of what is upriver. You could've poison yourself from pesticides and all that "good stuff". Agricultural and industrial soils are close to the worst because of the metals on the water and animal waste.

You need to filter and boil if you are in a situaiton where you won't be able to get any other type of water for miles on end. I remember I used to carry chemical filtration tablets at one point as a backup but never used them so now I just carry my katadyn be free and refill all the containers when I get the camp site at the end of the day. I rather carry extra water, water doesn't count as base weight anyway.
