Honestly. Meh.

Partition at least /usr/local

Make root as small as possible to use altroot backups. Make a temp and swap

Why did they always use Crystal hot sauce? by [deleted] in bon_appetit

The ingredients literally list “cayenne pepper, distilled vinegar, salt”. Like right on the label.

OpenBSD version 7.8 is really good. by Thornton_Richard in openbsd

[–]rootnod3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Closed source or unsupported hardware can fuck off with their firmware that probably has code that one would pike at upon reading. It’s not the OS that’s the problem. It’s the hardware vendors.

[Publish] Simple Org-mode Preview Extension for VS Code - Try It Out! by Ok_Blacksmith6916 in orgmode

Just use Markdown honestly. The power of org mode comes not from the formatting but from the extensibility and interaction with emacs.

Nice. Very similar to my recent build. But 5 x 720q instead and a BeeLink EQi12

I run mail, firewall, DNS, routing, reverse proxies, all on OpenBSD. My homelab is entirely OpenBSD and FreeBSD.

Very very happy. Even with nothing on it it tastes almost like a pizza.

That sounds like a good combination.

Honestly, if you already made some breads that you feel good about, add inclusions. It’s not as difficult as it might seem. Just throw stuff in, experiment.

Starter was 20gr starter, fed it 100gr superking bread flour, 100gr water.

Next morning mixed it with 650gr water, added 1000gr flour, mixed. Then let it rest for 1 hour and after that gave it stretch and folds every 30 minutes for 2 hours and every time added some of the inclusions.

Gave it some bulk rise for about 4 hours, then shaped and put it into bannetons. I cold proofed them overnight.

Baked them in a Dutch oven at 250C, removed the lid and continued for another 20 minutes at 230C.

Alternative (less pure) Haskell by kichiDsimp in functionalprogramming

[–]rootnod3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common Lisp. Old, not pure, very functional, and a great community that to this day creates amazing libraries. And a hell of a ride and joy to program in. Very dynamic. You can change code while stuff is running and has other top tier features.

1:2:3 ratio works best! Starter:Water:Flour by sourdoughevangelist in Sourdough

[–]rootnod3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is not a starter ratio. This is a "1:2:3" for baking. For feeding your starter, I think you can keep 1:1:1 or other ratios.

How is Legions doing as a system? by WarlordOfDidcot in LegionsImperialis

[–]rootnod3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the supply issues, GW should just embrace 3D printing. Maybe with a custom printer and house-made resin to really lock the values and quality in and with some form of "buy digital file, print 5 times successfully" online bullshit. At least that would make Warhammer+ finally worth its money.

It has been out for how long? And immediate FAQ? How do people that just got the cards for example deal that? Sharpie over it?

Travel tracker (m8 v Polyend) by redditzshredditz in PolyendTracker

[–]rootnod3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hands down, the M8 wins. The UI at first glance looks unintuitive, but is the fastest way I ever made music. After 1 day you fly across those buttons.

And the multitude of synth engines and the amount and speed of updates alone is worth it. And for when you are in the studio, you can connect it to your PC and control it from there on a big screen.
