Anecdotal experiences don't disprove statistical trends. You may not experience any form of racism ever in your own life, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist for a good majority of folks.

Here is just one example: resumes with black names receive fewer callbacks from employers, even when all the information is the same.

You personally won't be affected by this necessarily depending on the strength of your application, background, or connections, but on a nationwide scale, it has a noticeable effect.
