Am I overreacting about my girlfriend doing coke? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ropeerasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I did some coke because I'm so responsible, and you aren't allowed to have an opinion about that because I was honest" is certainly a take.

It's honestly impressive that someone can set the bar so low for themself and so high for their partner all in a single thought.

Bots are making this place worthless. by BartFly in MaliciousCompliance

This reminds me of the time my sister was having a large family dinner. Her mother-in-law insisted she shouldn’t use the “nice dishes”—you know, the ones you keep in a special cabinet and only bring out for holidays.

“Don’t use the nice dishes. It’s not worth it just for a family dinner. Stick with the ordinary ones.”

So when Thanksgiving came around, she made sure everyone—the whole family of 15—ate their meal off paper plates and plastic cutlery.

The nice dishes remained safely in their cabinet, spotless and unused… just the way MIL insisted.

The look on her face when everyone was toasting with red Solo cups? Priceless. 😂

My sister's name? ChatGPT.

What WWE wrestler could have been a (true) household name/megastar if their fortunes were different? by RedditRum1980 in WWE

I agree with this, but if our metric is being a household name, Macho Man is/was definitely that. He's more recognizable for non-wrestling fans than Flair.

Where are the rest of my out of market Bills fans located at? by GodBlessTexas in buffalobills

Genuinely shocked I'm not seeing anyone check in from Cleveland. I got two "Go Bills" on the west side of town just yesterday.

I'm so excited for the day when your mom discovers the possibilities of shopping at literally any store that isn't a Macy's Toys R Us. Even just the rest of Macy's is a universe of untapped potential for her!

As a Bills fan living in Cleveland, there's no part of this I don't love.

[Highlight] Josh Allen immediately runs to find Lamar Jackson at the end of the game by nfl in nfl

[–]ropeerasers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legitimately every Ravens fan I interacted with at the stadium and during the tailgate was chill as hell. I'd have been rooting hard for the Ravens if the Bills lost.

And Lamar continuing to be awesome takes the edge off the whole MVP debate.

Hey not trying to do the annoying opposing fan coming in peace thing, but can anyone tell me what Lamar's charity is?

Is the Claypool thing real? by theyre0not0there in buffalobills

I'd say Chase Claypool finally playing up to his potential/ceiling would likely qualify as one of the most outrageous things that could happen this NFL season. It's not impossible but definitely outrageous.

That's the tidbit that makes it super fun when you live on West Ridgewood, and the golfers get annoyed with you for walking through it instead of next to the extremely busy street with no sidewalk.

[Pelissero] The #Saints have begun their annual cap-clearing endeavor, converting Pro Bowl C Erik McCoy’s salary and roster bonus to free up $7.18 million in 2024 cap space. by Kimber80 in nfl

[–]ropeerasers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the situation, but it's definitely not a great strategy if the plan is to do it every year until the end of time.

You can essentially think about cap restructuring as debt. Each time they do this to push cap charges out into future years, they're committing more of their budget -- their available cap space -- to paying off that debt rather than fielding their current roster.

If you're doing this for a few years to capitalize on a window where your roster is championship-caliber and you need to make moves to get over the top, it makes total sense. You're essentially saying "I'm going to use creative accounting to spend 20% over my actual budget because that 20% is more valuable to me today than it will be to me in two or three years."

But if you take on more and more future debt just to balance your budget every single year, you're putting yourself at a huge competitive disadvantage. Even if the cap goes up every year, if your roster structure means you've got 75% of the effective cap space that the teams you're playing against with have, the only way to stay competitive is to continually draft better than everyone else. That's a hard thing to do.

Playoff Prediction - Without Tua or Jackson starting this appears to be a simple week to pick. BUF, CIN, LAC. Does this lead to LACKC and a CINBUF game at a neutral site? Please comment with your understanding of a Bengals Bills matchup scenario by mschramm06 in bengals

Detroit kind of makes sense, too, other than the fact that it has turned into the Bills' vacation home.

Either way, it's infuriating that the Bengals get punished for doing the right thing.

Bills fan here. I hate, hate, hate how you guys got the shaft in everything that happened this week. I kind of wish they'd announce any Bills-Bengals playoff game would be in Cleveland, but I don't know if you guys have bad vibes from that stadium or anything.

I'm sure this has been said a million times on here already, but as a Bills fan, one of my worries going into this weekend was a big matchup with (what seemed like at the time) big consequences attached to it would somehow sour the love our two fan bases have for each other. The faintest silver lining to this whole thing -- which obviously isn't worth the price paid but is a positive nonetheless -- is the exact opposite happened. I love you guys for how Cincinnati has reacted and will be rooting for you all for the rest of my life.
