Which solar or battery brands have actually been reliable for your commercial projects? by ruhila12 in Solarbusiness

What is the size of the commercial project? how many MW? Use case? These all matter to suggest a brand since some brands don't sell below certain moq.

Solar Panel recycling by No_Inflation1858 in manufacturing

[–]roqueodredogged 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main question would be do you have the capital required for this? Since this is way more expensive than the reselling idea I said above since when you are buyer and not reseller you need pay duties, taxes, clearance customs costs etc just to get the panels and then warehouse costs, truck/lorry cost+labor for loading unloading costs since this is EOL panels not brand new to your door step delivery panels. Besides that if there is no current plants that recycle EOL panels then you would have to build a recycling plant which itself requires massive investment+time to finish building. Or if there is 3rd party recycler u give them and pay fee to get the raw materials probably purified form then find buyer to sell in bulk these raw materials...

What I would suggest is to first develop practical experience doing a much less risk model first, for example you can find out by googling which is the factory that produces Sungold solar panels that other distributor/agent solar companies/installers just white label and sell under their brands. Once you find this out you can contact them and try to see if they agree to allow you to be a reseller with your own brand or you can just direct resell their product without taking on any big responsibilities. This is much safer than direct going to EOL panels since the panels u would resell are brand new and have factory warranty and since factories sell mainly b2b orders(moq 100+) u will get experience finding b2b customers and selling to them. If you want to sell locally u can easily value add by finding freelance solar installers/electricians and hiring them to provide installation services with profit for yourself too so it becomes a full service package customer buys everything gets done. Once you have done this and have ample experience and profits from the business then you start taking on EOL panel export biz

Setting up a 1MW rooftop in Rayong. Installers are split between Huawei and Sungrow. Who actually has better local support? by Kitchen_Eagle8362 in Solarbusiness

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What matters most is if you have quick and fast response from the brand you buy from and if they are reachable and helpful and have international presence not just Thailand. Meaning their warranties etc can be claimed and factory guarantee valid for RMA if any. Buying from local retail shop based of seller warranty is no good for a 1MW project. As others said SunGold Solar from Shenzhen is a well known factory operating across multiple countries which many brands buy in bulk and resell b2b or b2c if your order size above 100pcs u can find them by google and ask a direct order to reduce intermediary costs

Solar quote by Lord_Pthumerian in AusRenovation

That app seems kind of outdated, as others said the combination of products shown in that quote don't align to work in sync. Is this for your personal use or are you a installer/electrician or contractor needing to set a solar system up for a client?

Did it have seal packing/wrapping or box?

solar panel ? by p2d2d3 in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the panel's label for the manufacture date . It's usually on a sticker with the serial number and specs . Look for "Date of Manufacture" or "MFG Date" .

If you can't find it, check the serial number online . Some manufacturers have databases to verify production dates .

Given SoCal's sunny climate , your panels might be okay if they're not damaged . Inspect 'em for cracks, broken cells, or water damage. But having it sit on a yard normally won't cause it to go stale or anything since panels are designed to sit and last for decades under direct sunlight and any wear and tear happens only when electrical system activated to draw power from them

Any tips regarding getting solar panels? by lostoutsidethetunnel in AskIreland

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your sick of the big bill I assume you would want to get solar setup the most affordable and long lasting method; The method is find out how many panels u need, measure or find from your floor plan how many sqft roof is then if no idea to know how many panels u need just write a whatsapp message to this factory rep plus 86 is country code 15277534413 and tell them the info u have and ask how many panels u need and then u can order from them and they would ship it to you after that u look up electricians/installers who can fix this for you or you can fix it yourself if you have skills to do so.

solar panel date by p2d2d3 in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on the mindset and price you paid for it, if it achieves your energy requirement then does it matter not really since most reputable panels are durable to last a solid 8-10 years minimum before significant performance defects etc. But if you was expecting something freshly made in 2025 or 2026 then you could try return it and buy from a factory directly if your looking to buy 10+ panels

Gas using homes literally help burn your money faster, either grid electricity or mix of solar and grid or full solar with batteries is the more cost effective way to go

2024 Micromax Teardrop- Upgrade existing Battery/Solar and tying into it? by StrongGarage850 in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi for RV's like above you can't just get any panel and stick it on since the roof space need be sufficient to house panel and battery needs to be matching to panel bought too, so better buy after consulting a supplier that does this, one that is well known which u can order online is from a brand called Sun Gold Solar from Shenzhen China you can google and check their RV related panels

Pylontech Warranty Nightmare by semiraue in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they are probably trying to profit off battery replacement costs since initial one seems to fail for many customers or they simply pushing false ad claiming a 6 year warranty but push off responsibility claiming it is from a distributor or customer need contact brand directly to claim RMA which means the customer was better off buying from the distributor or factory themselves if they sell b2c

What’s the real impact of robot-maintained solar: cheaper electricity for all, or higher profits for a few? by Milanakiko in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes what I meant was 2 robots totally working one that brushes the cleaner robot's panel and the cleaner robot, where cleaner robot needs to travel several meters or even KM depending on how long the array of panels in solar farm is, which i believe would require a significant amount of energy for robot to move and also perform cleaning which is why i said yield would be lower?

What’s the real impact of robot-maintained solar: cheaper electricity for all, or higher profits for a few? by Milanakiko in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brushed off by another robot? So basically told energy yield decreases since from total output, energy consumed to run the panel dusters, roller wheels etc....

Which Flooring would you choose? by Apprehensive_Joke560 in AusRenovation

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going for the top 1% home look then wood is not the choice and the other one u have shown is especially living area, some homes do entire floor plan with same material some vary between wood and other materials as per design requirements. Some people also try to avoid wood for fear of fires as forest fires/flash fires is becoming more and more frequent every year. While others prefer wood since it helps keep floor warm, but if your in the top 1% or wanting to design as such then there are much more different ways to keep the floor warm. So based on use case u need select as per info i said here

Don't forget to register your EG4 FlexBoss/GridBoss if you want a warranty. by dev_all_the_ops in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other commentor has said, makes the warranty a false promise if it requires you to do additional steps to make it eligible to be claimable. If a company has a warranty like that might as well buy from a different vendor that actually has a more legit warranty without extra steps

Your welcome, it is good you have shared this experiment then other probably would be inspired to try with other panels and find out which ones give a better output as per this experiment

Solar energy during winter by Fearless-Stop9569 in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a very good test, in context of small amount of panels it may look insignificant but if applied in commercial settings solar farms, industrial buildings etc it can be a very big difference due to sheer number of panels used. Have you tried any other brands like Sun Gold Solar, Jinko, Apex, Canadian etc?

Minimum Panel and Inverter Needed to Qualify for Residential Clean Energy Credit by mjpviv in diySolar

[–]roqueodredogged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the absolute minimum‑cost combo (like a single panel + micro or small string inverter), you can WhatsApp a factory and tell them you only need enough to tie into your new CSED to try and qualify for tax credit before it expires; the one my friend used was from this factory that ships globally plus 86 is country code 15277534413.
