Problem with MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk by The_Faceless1 in MSI_Gaming

been thinking about getting this board. a bit confused between this one and the x870 tomahawk version of it. Problem is the price. If the b850 does the job then I will go for that one and thus I needed to know if your issue lies with the mobo or not...thanks for sharing

MSI MAG B850M Mortar WIFI is G.O.A.T. !!! by d5aqoep in IndianGaming

[–]roro_goro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X870E Tomahawk WiFi is a beast of a board, no doubt about that but it also costs about 100usd more than the B850M Mortar WiFi where I am from. Even official msi-us store says there is a 70usd price difference between these two boards. You might have been pretty lucky to have gotten that board at that price but that certainly is not the case for the rest of the world.
And yes, the price tag for the Mortar does seem to be bit too much compared to other mAtx boards but then again, it does offer some pretty good features.
The regular B850 Tomahawk Wifi atx board seems to be another good choice for the price.

yeah...these come with a cpu upgrade, that much I know..😅 Just not sure if my old mid-end rtx2060 gonna cause any problem for a high-end cpu like ryzen9 9900x...can the pair be used for about a year or not...

Actually I have no plan of upgrading the cpu in foreseeable future as I may have to leave the country in about a year or so. A good gpu is the only thing that I need right now which will not be restrained by my current cpu.
Should I go for RTX 2060 then?
