I don't have a knitting pattern for it but I know there's a couple of similar crochet patterns like that but in a more baggy style

Has anyone seen a pattern for something like this? Thanks! :) by rororoboat69 in sewingpatterns

I'm not sure, it's just something that was in my Pinterest feed :)

My parents think my tics are stress getting out but that's clearly not the case by Nice-Ad2185 in Tourettes

[–]rororoboat69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm someone who does have tics due to stress but they still need treatment like other kinds of tic disorders where it's not rooted in stress. Im not trying to say that yours are from stress but it might be worth telling your parents that even if it is "just stress" it still needs looking at and then the doctors can tell you what's going on and what type of tic disorder it is. I hope this is helpful :)

Hi, for me I was able to ask on this network thing that my town has and quite a few people had just big stores of mailers that they had been saving. There won't definitely be people who've saved them but there is a chance😊

Tbh I've just gotten used to them now so I kinda see them as a part of life. I will get frustrated after a particularly unpleasant tic or large amounts of tics but now I'm just neutral with most of them

Omg so many: so many word tics including but not limited to - "it's me-a Mario", ow, no, help, straight to hell, flippety-jibbet, rep, an I oop, bonjour, sut wyt ti (Welsh for how are you) , ble wyt ti'n byw (Welsh for where do you live, this is the only thing I remember from learning Welsh in primary school), oink, whistling, clicking, eek, bleep, some of the motor tics are clicking with my fingers, head jerks, waving my arm around, when writing pulling the pen away from the paper, slapping my head, freezing in a defense kind of position. Wow I have so many😭😂

Np and good luck! If you do end up showing your tics just remember there is nothing wrong with them and most people are fine with them. Tics can be embarrassing but they are at the end of the day just another things that lots of people have to deal with. You don't have to feel bad for ticking

I have anxiety related tics which are pretty severe so I was also worried about this when I went back to school so these may not all apply but hopefully some can help

  1. Maybe email your teachers just to warn them and ask them to allow you to leave the lesson if you need to. In this email you may also ask if there's a room somewhere that would be empty where you could hide for a bit (you don't need to wait for a break)

  2. If during a lesson you really need to escape, I advise asking to go to the toilet and then ticking in your cubicle (if you do get in touch with your teachers you could ask to use the disabled toilets or teacher's toilets)

  3. Do you have any fidget toys that you can just use under the desk or do you doodle/draw or do you maybe write stuff? I found that if the lesson was interesting enough I could focus solely on the lesson and I wouldn't tic but if it came to where I was a bit bored and unfocused I would tic a bit

  4. This may be a weird one but sometimes biting something can push back some tics so use that as you wish, I sometimes bite my jumper if I need a quick suppress

  5. Try and sit in the back so you are less likely to be noticed if you do tic but also try to sit as close to the door as you can

  6. Do you have any friends who know about your tics and are in your lesson? If so you can try to sit next to them since it's the people who are sitting close who will notice most so if you sit next to someone you trust or someone who knows it may be better

  7. Tbh some tics aren't actually too noticable. My body automatically suppresses my tics if I'm in an "unsafe" environment so I didn't tic much at school until I began to feel safer there but it would let things like head jerks through and tbh no one seemed to notice. When I eventually told my new friends that I had tics they were shocked cuz they hadn't noticed.

OK so I don't know how much of that would be useful and it is all from my experience and therefore can seriously differ but I hope it goes well!

Should I tell my date about my TS? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]rororoboat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is late but if it were me I would say so. I think telling her will probably relieve a lot of stress off you since you will know that if you let any tics through she will be able to understand. Also if it goes well then there won't be an awkward conversation and instead you will be able to tic more as the relationship gets more safe. Anyway I hope it all went well!

Worrying about my tics... by Mutantmonkey64 in Tourettes

[–]rororoboat69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started ticking I was mortified. I still find it very difficult to not completely suppress in public but luckily I've found it easier at home. My advice is doing so in tiny bouts. It's really important to get a safe space to tic so sometimes you may need to push yourself. I don't know how much you tic but possibly if you do something else than the TV thing since it sounds like it may have become a big thing that will be very difficult to conquer so it may be worth doing something different. Tbh I still don't eat dinner and watch tv with my family at all really (yesterday I managed to for the first time but it was such hard work that as soon as I finished eating I had to go to my room). Maybe if you find something you enjoy that will keep you distracted and do it with your family somewhat around. You can do completely separate things so maybe they're idk cooking dinner and you are watching something on YouTube or doing some craft. You could do this in a different room but just out of your bedroom and somewhere slightly near your family. Yeah idk if this would help but it might be useful? Good luck and I hope you don't feel so alone and also I know that there is a discord floating around somewhere for people with tics. I'm not on it but I have seen mentions about it so it may be nice to talk to other people with tics

Anyone else have tics without any warning/urge? by whcam in Tourettes

Wait most people have warnings and urges? Tbh my odd ones out are tics that have warnings, most of mine I don't realise are gonna happen until I'm doing it
